Ban on selling alcohol in Songkhla Apr 12-19 has been announced

Featured Replies

Songkhla lawmakers have just announced some important new steps to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Selling alcohol is going to be prohibited from the 12th until the 19th of April.

Songkran has also been "cancelled". This means no water sprinkling, no water guns, no gatherings etc.

Songkran was cancelled long ago thank goodness.

Everybody knows that Songkran, as a public holiday, was cancelled, but this didn't mean people can't have some fun. Activities have NOT been officially banned.

The local government has now made the ban on Songkran related activities official. No "fun" allowed.

This was the meaning of the post above

For instance, in Phuket, Songkran can be celebrated as long as the revellers don't leave their district.
