Phetchaburi on Friday (April 10) ordered the closure of beaches in the province and a ban on kite surfing, jet skiing, banana boating and other water sports as well as gathering on the beaches.

The order took effective immediately until April 30 in its move to stem the escalating Covid-19 outbreak.

It also ordered the closure of venues selling alcohol during this period.

However, it relaxed the previous order on closure of beauty salons but the salons have to strictly comply with social distancing and hygiene practices. If they fail to do so, the province will consider closing them on a case by case basis.

absolutely ridiculous, there are no people on the beaches day in and day out in Cha-am and not even on the weekends.

I know because I live 50 meters from it, I've been on there most days and the most people you can see a kilometer away is like 3

I just went on and took a picture on both sides as today is the busiest day and I live at the busiest spot in Cha-am beach.

there are two people on the left picture!

that's it, I'm calling the police!

We know the rationale, but it is better to don't speak. Terrible.

Makes total sense to me.

If fish get infected this virus could spread across the whole world and thousands could die!

Just sayin'.

Before you ask, yes, I am a famous icthyologist and often play one on TV.
