The electrical scrap items collectors

Featured Replies

Hi

I sometimes notice trucks going around locally collecting electrical scrap items, mostly seems to be fans or fridges.

Anyway I assume they give a tiny bit for what they collect.

Any idea of wgat they might give for the following items

A dead laptop that will not power up ( bought a new power lead for it, no go.)

2 broken fans, one just went bang, other runs but gets extremely hot.

A 24" PC monitor that gradually took longer and longer for the screen to light up. Eventually took so long I fell asleep waiting.

I have no desire to attempt to have them repaired.  Bought replacements.

I realise I can leave them by the bins and they would be collected within minutes.

Thanks

I recently collected all the old broken mobile phones and tablets in our house about 20 altogether !

a truck came round advertising they would exchange items for plastic buckets..I didn't want any more plastic buckets but took my stuff  to see what they offered...I got 3 small bags of washing powder,2 big bottles of "Halls blue boy" ,3 cans of pilchards in tomato sauce,2 bottles of Sprite and he threw in a sachet of  washing up liquid ????

There are other trucks that come round  who will take  scrap metal, old batteries, plastic and glass bottles and cardboard  they  pay by weight.
