Amazing..

The leader of the most prominent group in the US peddling potentially lethal industrial bleach as a “miracle cure” for coronavirus wrote to Donald Trump at the White House this week.

In his letter, Mark Grenon told Trump that chlorine dioxide – a powerful bleach used in industrial processes such as textile manufacturing that can have fatal side-effects when drunk – is “a wonderful detox that can kill 99% of the pathogens in the body”. He added that it “can rid the body of Covid-19”.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/24/revealed-leader-group-peddling-bleach-cure-lobbied-trump-coronavirus

Grenon styles himself as “archbishop” of Genesis II – a Florida-based outfit that claims to be a church but which in fact is the largest producer and distributor of chlorine dioxide bleach as a “miracle cure” in the US. He brands the chemical as MMS, “miracle mineral solution”, and claims fraudulently that it can cure 99% of all illnesses including cancer, malaria, HIV/Aids as well as autism.

Pasteur created the first vaccine for rabies by growing the virus in rabbits, very different to the scenario you are suggesting.

However, do you really believe a doctor in today's world would go down the same path with the current rules and regulations. Injecting chlorox?  likely a death sentence...

Of course, providing the doctor in question was a Republican. They never let reality get in the way of what they want to believe. ????

Keep in mind that Trump honestly, truly believes he is smarter than everyone else on the planet. No matter if they are top physicians or Ph.d Scientists, he actually thinks he is smarter than them because he thinks he as some sort of "natural ability".

From a Trump visit to the CDC in March 2020:
"You know, my uncle was a great person. He was at MIT. He taught at MIT for, I think, like a record number of years. He was a great super genius. Dr. John Trump. I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. Every one of these doctors said, 'How do you know so much about this? ' Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president."
(My bolding and underlining.)

Trump was trying to impress the crowd about how much he thought he knew about everything to do with the virus. During the same interview, the CDC claimed the outbreak was contained and the risk to the public was low. (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-tour-centers-disease-control-prevention-atlanta-ga/)
https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/trump-thinks-he-may-have-natural-ability-address-viral-outbreaks-n1153061

(That was before the mass infections and deaths hit New York.)

He actually thinks he's an expert and knows more than anybody in a number of different fields:
Trump is the #1 expert on… - Taxes - Construction - Campaign finance - Drones - Technology - U.S. History - Infrastructure - ISIS - Facebook - Renewables - Polls - Courts - Steel workers - Golf - Banks - Nuclear arms - The system - Debt - Politicians …according to Donald Trump
https://twitter.com/nowthisnews/status/1081528992484610048

I see Trump, after all the criticism that has been directed at him over his remarks about injecting disinfectant, is now claiming that he made the remark "sarcastically".

This is typical of his behaviour in the past where he's made dubious remarks and has had to backtrack on them (or try to blame others for what he himself said).

well, he IS an expert in some things.  surely you'd admit that.

take bankruptcy, for example.  he has six times the experience of running a business into the ground and walking away from his debts and obligations than most ordinary humans.  consider that he personally managed five casinos into insolvency.  that right there is something extraordinary, something regarded is impossible in the business world.

that's got to count for something, right?  so ya better listen up when the big man speaks.

what's the worstest that could happen?

Unfortunately the sarcasm emoji function doesn't work on android, so I injected a bit of drama into the retelling to highlight the absurdity of the current proposal.

It's an important point, since some of his supporters might just take him at his word. Regarding Trump himself though, since he's already been impeached and nothing changed, maybe imbleachment would hit the sweet spot?

Not only did he go on national TV and made a fool of himself . but then he went on TV and made a fool of himself again  by claiming that he was being sarcastic.

Not only is he a fool but he thinks we are fools also.

The man has serious psychological problems . What he was clearly and shamelessly doing, was a clumsy attempt of self promoting that backfired on him. he was trying to insinuate that he was telling the scientist what to do and that they were agreeing with him .

" I told them about heat and light, and they said yea Yea we will look into that

Then "and how about ingesting disinfectants? yea yea we will look in that"

as if after months of the world looking at this , no one thought about that and reject it.

That was like the infomercial  where the fake audience asks the salesperson"and does it slice and dice also

   Shameless!!

not only to watchy the leader of the free world act like that, but the VP and his scientific advisors trapped as players  in this macabre, tragicomedy show .

Whilst the Trump comments on the use of disinfectant rightly came in for immense ridicule I found a rebuttal statement from 'Researchers convened by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine' to be more worrying.

They were responding to the White House on the sunlight impact issue and noted 'Given that countries currently in 'summer'  climates, such as Australia and Iran, are experiencing rapid virus spread. a decrease in cases with increases in humidity and temperature should not be assumed.'

https://www.click2houston.com/news/politics/2020/04/24/trump-showcases-idea-heat-humidity-could-help-fight-virus/

Australia- rapid virus spread? Iran - currently in summer climate? WTH!!

What they fail to understand is that it has an incremental effect that other variables can easily negate.

Yes Heat and Humidity let's say decreases the transmission of the virus by an X  factor but irresponsible behaviour increases it  by an X+ factor and transmission increases . Where in cooler countries you don't have the the Heat and Humidity, but you have responsible behaviour and the virus transmission decreases.

Is it the Heat and Humidity that made the difference or the other behavioral and or viral  factors?

Recently been reported trump's people are trying to convince him to no longer front the daily Covid briefing sessions and have Pence be the lead. Whether trump's ego will accept the harsh reality of his failure to lead the nation during the Covid crisis will be interesting. Could well be good for his polling numbers as for sure if he permits Pence to takeover the daily sessions a massive amount of spin will be applied to keep his base onside and try to convince other gullible members of the US voting public trump's the man.

An example of not so subtle press coverage of this matter...

White House sources told Axios that Trump may stop appearing at the podium every day, and that any appearances he does make will be much shorter.

Yea I saw the same thing , his last press conference was very short and he took no questions.

IMO the damage is done. I am sure Clips of this and other guffs , so many that it is hard to keep track of, will be played over and over again during the general election. combine this with the trump fatigue that I know I am feeling and I am sure most people must, and I don't think he can recover from this.

Mark my Words. I said this for Hillary and I am saying the same for trump . By now he has so much baggage , in the generall he will be placed in the defencive and will nit be able to get out. The moment he gets out of one they will hit him with another.

Watch his establishment support go running for the hills  as soon as it becomes apparent which should had already started.

But i guess it is hard to change horse midstream.

Lol - except that in the CDC visit he was bragging about himself. He didn't get as much negative press about that so he didn't need to go back and blame his comments on something (or someone) else.

yes, the damage is done.  he will be remembered forever, just as gee-dubya, for his special way of speaking.  trump, too, has been "misunderestimated."

trump's problem is that it's all gotta be about him all the time.  this is supposed to be a health crisis, a pandemic, so why aren't the briefings being held at the CDC....by doctors?

such a shame his briefings are so much reality-teevee garbage, WWF-style self-promotion, and paid commercial advertorials.

bigly sad.

Here's Dr. Birx's reaction in case, you want to see what a person looks like when they're trying to sink into the ground and disappear.

Well, its not their fault. I'm being serious when I say that if you are brought up to behave a certain way, you think its the norm. You may not understand but remember the guy who hung the US flag on Saddam's statue? He clearly thought that was OK whilst the rest of the world cringed. Its about how you behave and how you feel about your fellow man.

Poor woman clearly wanted to say far more but people who oppose Trump have a habit of losing their job.

(although i've just been advised that watching any one of his press briefings in it's entirety can lead to ingestion of dangerous chemicals, so i wouldn't put too much stock in the effect of this particular bit of genius medical advice!)
