Trying to manage various threatening conditions I have taken a closer look at my CKD stage 2/3 and I am wondering whether the results of Lab X are very significant. Anyway I'll wait until Khun Newin removes the the barb wires around Buriram and have another visit to Bumrungrad.

One does not expect these values to temain static. Ups and downs are normal.

Of the 3 "Lab X" values you cite one is in mormal range and the other 2 only a little above it.

What reference range does that Lab list? This differs by lab and is important to take into account.

Why go all the way to Bangkok when Korat is just up the road. Best hospital to visit is the Fort Suranaree Military Hospital or Suranaree University of Technology Hospital. I find the first excellent.

In fact there are 4 "Lab X" values. The one that I found strange is 1.42 is June 2016. Also Bumrungrad and the Australian lab give remarkably stable results.

Anyway I'll wait for the next result, and then consult to decide wether I'd need lifestyle adjustments. As I said I want to balance QoL vs Life expectancy, and this with several threatening conditions.

It is easier and safer to fly to Bangkok than drive to Korat. And, when coming back, I'd get quarantined anyway .

Seconding what Sheryl says, the levels are of importance - also the fact that you did not get your BUN levels for each of these makes it harder to put in context. Whilst, im sorry to hear, it seems that your condition is quite serious one erroneous test value in itself is not alarming. Do you also look at ferritin levels?

Sheryl these are the same results with the reference range. Is the width of those ranges indicative of the "quality" of the labs?

What puzzles me is that most of these result would give a GFR indicative of CDK stage 2 or 3 without any of my doctors having shown any alarm ? Not sure if I can ask this question to Bumrungrad urologist without getting some adverse reaction ?

Also, I have a good BP and no established Diabetes, so the most probable cause of CDK would be my 100cc prostate causing UTIs, which somehow I and my medics would have overlooked attributing symptoms to BPH, and CPPS?

The fact that Lab X has a wider reference Range indicates less precision. Note that your last result there, which I assume is what has you concerned, is within normal range for that lab. It is not elevated. You cannot apply the Bumrungrad Reference range to results from Lab X, have to use theirs.  Only in 2016 was your result elevated. this current result is normal.

I am sure you could talk with this Bumrungrad urologist without any adverse reaction - he has a very western outlook and easy to talk with - (was at Bangkok Hospital when I had major operation several years ago).

Urologist will not mind discussing this with you )or of he does, cvhange urologiosts; there are plenty who will be happy to discuss with you0.

Has any doctor diagnosed you with CKD? As the lab values you list don:t seem to suggest it.

GFR calculation is complex and requires more than just cretanine level.  You also need serum cystatin  and to adjust for body mass etc.

And, GFR is not sole criteria for diagnosing CKD. Especially if GFR is  60 or above , the albumin+creatnine ratio is important.

Good chance you do not have CKD at all and are worrying needlessly.
