snoop1130 Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Social security members demand contribution refunds to survive By THE NATION Many subscribers to the social security gathered outside the Social Security Office (SSO) in Bangkok on Friday (May 15) demanding that the agency refund their pension contributions so they can use the money to pull through the Covid-19 crisis. The protesters put their feelings down on paper, sang and prayed loudly to inform officials that they had lost their jobs due to the pandemic. “We need our contributions back in order to survive,” they shouted. As many as 1.09 million people have applied for social security benefits from March 24 to May 13, and 776,441 have been paid a total of Bt4.465 billion so far. The office said it expects many more people to seek benefits in the future. SSO also said that there are 190,245 members whose employers have not confirmed their right to receive the benefit. The office has tried to contact the employers, but some have closed their business. ThailandRyan Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 My girlfriend was denied her social security when the salon closed and as the owner she had paid into the system. Denied the 5000 baht because she is not Thai.....The owner of the building would not reduce her rent while she was closed so she ended up going out of business completely because she could not afford to keep paying the unit rent. The ladies that worked for her were able to collect the 5000 baht from the government but have now been put out of work even though they could have restarted the salon, because the business went under.......many more will be in the same shoes. She has money in the bank but could not see any end in sight when she removed her equipment and the ladies took there's as well. One day maybe she will restart in another location but not knowing what the regulations brings she has no time fram for finding a new location.....
herfiehandbag Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I have heard mutterings that the payments for those covered by the Social Security Fund have been, shall we say. a little difficult to claim. Perhaps the bottom line, both for these unfortunates, and the millions who have been left behind by the "leave nobody behind scheme" is that there is simply no cash available 1

Details of payments made to an employees social security number should have all the details on file? 1
