Tourism Tourism Shock: Thailand's Visitor Numbers See Alarming Plunge
In the earlier 2000s Farang / Europeans/ Aussies flocked to Thailand because you got for example 55 baht to £. Now its too expensive often in tourist places well over 550+ baht for just two drinks and a basic meal for two. You can be charged 100 baht for a Leo in some bars. Decrease the Baht's value and tourists would flock back. Even now as Trump threatens the Thai economy and Thai exports with massive tariffs on its goods exported to USA ( where poor Trump voters will pay a lot more for everything imported) we only get circa 43 baht to £, lower rates at most Thai ATMs and ATM charge on Tourists every time is 230 baht ( circa £5.30) -

MAGA Man's Concepts of a Deal and the Art of Bankruptcy
I really don't get posters who think they're required to read posts they don't like. Are they masochists or just thick? -

One Big Beautiful Bill? More Like One Big Bloody Oversized Stich-Up, Bruv
So there are 2 possibilities. 1 - You are excessively paranoid 2 - They are not cutting Medicaid. They are trying to get rid of the abuse and fraud in the social security systems. Again, this is from the horse's mouth. But says YOU that nothing from this web site can be trusted. https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/03/fact-check-president-trump-will-always-protect-social-security-medicare/ The Trump Administration will not cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits. President Trump himself has said it (over and over and over again). Elon Musk didn’t say that, either. The press is lying again. -

What exactly is a Thai pink ID card?
My yellow book was a lot easier to get than posted above, but it was 20+ years ago. Simply asked for it, a few times before the actually issued it. Think they got tired of me asking for it. Then when Pink ID were available, that was even easier, just asked & received. Good for life, if over 60 (?). Though address has been updated a few times already. And no, don't feel superior, just smarter by not letting people have access to my PP. Or needing to get a Cert. of Residence when asked for, to buy something or what ever asked for not of days, if not having either a yellow book or Pink ID. Also haven't needed a C or R in over 20 yrs. Also used for hotel check ins, which was convenient in the past, as doesn't have the info to process a TM30, so I never needed to inform Imm when returning home after an O&A, since never reported away from home. Still use now if asked for ID at hotels, which is rare, since I never check in anyway. The wife just goes and gets the key, while I wait with the dog in the car. Only time I give here the Pink ID for check in, is if staying at Ibis, as may ask, but rare she presents it, as a regular customer w/member card. Again, I just sit with the dog until she gets the key card.
