It it possible that Thai has invoices to pay Airbus when Airbus hasn't leased anything to Thai. The money is going out somewhere.

They could still recover the planes, which other stakeholders may not be able to. So now it becomes a fight for what is left over.

Who can they lease them to now?  Apparently we are a long way away from the cheapo travel of the past!

Limited options:

offer deferred payments

take a stake in the airline, in lieu of payments

dry lease

invest in vaccine development

Does this airline actually know whom they rent from....?  ????

No wonder its sums don't add up, and they are in trouble...????...

They picked up the planes at a Cambodian border market

Airbus sells to the leasing companies, which then lease the aircraft to THAI (TG).

In TG's case, for Airbus aircraft, leasing companies include:

Aviation Lease and Finance

CIT Aerospace International

RBS Aerospace International

There have been reports of leasing cabin staff in the future.

So its not airbus wh has the problem but the leasing companies. Unless these go bust too.

Of course is airbus right now not a company with good prospects neither is boeing of course with corvid and all.

Yes that is correct, and flight crew (pilots incl), this is called "Wet Leasing".  Which they've been doing so for many years at least 25 to the best of my knowledge.  More often than not with a maintenance package too.

How or why else could all the small fledgling airlines start up? When the smallest aircraft in the A320 range and B737 start at over $120million.

As for the written text - the lease contract, as would all other aircraft documentation ie Maintenance manuals, procedures and service bulletins. This is in English.

How does this type of miscommunication error happen so often over here? Even after all these years, I am stunned it can occur so regularly and people are Ok with it.

They did not sell even 4% only reduced their share to just under 51 % - the entire saga is nothing but a smoke screen - it’s a bailout nothing else.

True.

You have to read the stuff completely.

A couple of issues here.

And one cannot happen without the other.

Before bankruptcy the Thai government will want to get back as much as possible, before the receivers rule all debts to disappear under a Thai law.

Makes sense, then as usual the press have over simplified and dramatized the whole issue reporting inaccurately and avoiding facts they are unable to understand.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story?  A.K.A.   T.I.T.

Not so sure about this, they bought planes in the past like those 340 that could not be sold ever again. One belongs now to the airforce, permanently parked at Don Mueang on the other side.

That one flew over me twice last month when I was on my my bike in Nonthaburi,

Reports on May 20 quoted Deputy Transport Minister Thaworn Senneam as saying that THAI’s debts were checked on May 15, when documents showed that Airbus is trying to collect debts for the rental of 30 airplanes as the due date draws near.

False documents springs to mind.... I wonder why that would happen?

The Thai has 8 planes in Dry Lease Type A350 XWB
and 12 fully owned aircraft

January 27, 2020 Thai airways plans to practice wet dry crewed aircraft rental
Thai Airways may lease new aircraft and sublet cabin crew to reduce assembly costs and losses

Flight Lease offers various leasing and financing options primarily for commercial aviation activities. We are able to provide tailor-made financing solutions to allow operators to expand their fleet and better serve their customers. We also provide flexible and creative leasing options, including sales / leasing structures in which Flight Lease buys the aircraft from an operator and leases it to the operator without interruption of service.

A dry lease (dry English) is a rental contract under which an aeronautical finance company (lessor), such as GECAS or AerCap, supplies an aircraft with no crew, no ground personnel, etc.7. This type of rental is generally used by leasing companies and banks, obliging the tenant to put the plane on his own Air Transport Certificate (AOC) and manage the registration of the aircraft. A dry lease usually lasts from two to five years and includes certain conditions with regard to the periodic maintenance of the aircraft and the maintenance of its airworthiness, the minimum insurance conditions. It may also contain specific provisions depending on the geographic location, the political situation, etc.

In the case of the dry lease, the aircraft is operated under the responsibility and the Air Transport Certificate of the client airline
