Those 4 labour MP's were not involved in drawing up these rules, admitted violating the rules, did not try to obfuscate the issue, can be removed by their constituents if they so want, are not the topic of this thread.

As you can see many differences.

Those 4 Labour MP's, one a shadow Minister, broke the rules because it suited them too. How many other laws and rules do they consider themselves to be above? The admitted it - of course no apology or remorse because they believe themselves above all the plebs.

As elected public servants they must have a higher transparent code of behavior and adherence to the rules.

They should be judged by the electorate. Not in 5 years, but as soon as possible. Decency demands they resign. But as we see time and time again, decency and the Labour party in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

I think we are failing the Occam's Razor test with your stretch points there. Which says he went on a short drive on his wife's birthday to a nearby riverside bank beauty spot when the rest of the country was on extreme lockdown and knows he was seen when his parent's house already  had extensive grounds, fields and woods. A lot of people including Tory voters are livid at the constant lying and Bolsonaro esque contempt for truth at a time of national jeopardy and rightly so.

Well, if Cummings lied then you have a point. As a German I of course assume people in Britain, like we in Germany, do not lie. Is this not the case?

Including the Daily Mail?!

Strange goings on in the press. The Mail, Telegraph and Sun all rounding on Cummings and ignoring the 4 Labour MP's who broke the rules.

Cummings has made some powerful enemies!

The ONS death toll is now 47,300. Earlier on in the lockdown the death toll was not as high when the 4 Labour MPs broke the rules. The 2nd worst death toll in the world makes this breach by the PMs advisor pretty bad.

Apparently 52% of the population think Cummings should resign.

Surely the will of the people should be respected.

They didn't know what they were voting for.

If he's got any sense, he'll use the lying about Barnard Castle once confirmed by the police.

He's already lied about Barnard Castle and so has Johnson. No: 10 press office released a statement denying it. Johnson was asked in the daily briefing the previous day, just after spending several hours with Cummings discussing the matter, if Cummings had made a trip to Barnard Castle. He refused to answer.

Not so much a cover up as stuffing your porn mags under the bed which your mum finds when cleaning your bedroom.

I agree and that’s why they have a nice big majority and are running rings round the lib tards. Luvin it.

I prefer your angle,  don't care about the truth or what he did but Brexit ! Problem for that though is we still have a free press and an accountable executive. Boris needs to lead not stagger from crisis to crisis.

The press reports and condemnation of these 4 have already been posted in other topics, yet that condemnation is ignored by you and others.

On the subject, what about Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick. One day hosting the press conference in Downing Street, a few days later appearing on Sky News via video from a property he owns in rural Hertfordshire:  despite the Nottinghamshire MP's website stating his family live 120 miles away in his constituency of Newark, as well as in London.

Then there's good ole Nige. Farage has been running around the South East coast in his attempts to prove France are sending thousands of migrants across the channel.

Why haven't you and others ever mentioned these two?

That others have also broken the regulations is no excuse for anyone, especially a man who played a major role in writing them, to do the same.

Farage hates Cumming's with a a vengeance and is cheering on his downfall. In fact I would go as far to say he secretly wants a Brexit extension so he can assemble his Brexit army once again.

This is actually true, dingys coming over everyday and the government not doing anything about it, but having a blanket 14 day quarantine instead.

Not doing anything apart from arresting and processing, including a medical assessment, those caught at reception centres as before.

Oh, and putting them into quarantine for 14 days once that eventually starts. Though for them, as for those entering the UK legally, this measure, still to begin, is way too late.

Should be sending them back to France or turning around their dingys.

Italy open to EU/UK citizens on 3rd June, Spain open on 1st July and now Germany looking to do the same, but the UK now having a 14 day quarantine when others are opening up, pointless.

The list of conservative MPs is growing.

Tory MP William Wragg, chairman of the influential Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs select committee, has added his name of to a growing list of Conservatives revolting against Dominic Cummings.

MPs come and go, just sorts the wheat from the chaff.

Thinking back to the last election, how many MPs left their respective parties for attention and are now in the wilderness?

Occasionally snatching a quick spot on Piers Morgan’s breakfast show to make snide remarks about Boris & co.

More will go and good riddance, they are surplus if they can’t focus on the bigger issues of the crisis we’re facing.

Except for the Dublin Regulation, agreed to by the UK, which says that once in UK waters they are the UK's responsibility.

BTW, if spurious allegations that the French are letting them go, or even helping them reach UK waters, were true there would be a hell of a lot more arriving every day!

But this topic is about Cummings, not illegal immigration. If you want to discuss that further I will be happy to do so in a separate topic.
