Whatever Cummings did or did not do is simply not important. A minor issue vastly exaggerated by the Left and MSM Boris haters.

All governments do lie to us. Did you not notice the anti-Brexit lies? Every word that came from Blair’s and Brown’s govts were lies.

Your continued ranting in both respects is laughable. You sound remarkably like that old blow hard Piers Morgan, spitting vitriol and venom at opposing views. Typical Leftie.

You consider the government lying to us on Cummings' behalf to be a minor matter; I doubt many voters share your view. Certainly very few consider lies told by any Labour government to be a trivial matter! People still go on about Blair and WMD!

I see that you still consider the Mail, Telegraph, etc. To be members of "the Left and MSM Boris haters!" Makes one wonder who you do consider to be acceptable; but considering your avatar, I can make a good guess.

I can't speak for everyone, but personally I feel there are more important issues than all the tittle tattle about Cummings, and gossiping about whether number 10 covered for him.

For me it's more important to know the trend of infection/hospitalisation/ICU/death rates, and the strategy for getting the UK economy going again. You know - the less trivial stuff.

The government decided to lie to us in an effort to protect Cummings.

So how much of "the less trivial stuff" are they lying to us about?

Hey, what ever the subject you say the Gov lied............????.........So why should you or I worry.....????

Really? In what other subjects have I said the government lied? The last one I can recall is Blair and WMD. Are you saying you don't think he lied?

Why should you worry? Well, as you live in Thailand you personally probably don't need to.

But those of us who live here in the UK should worry. Because, as I say above, as the government have lied to protect Cummings, what else have they lied to us about?

There was nothing more to be said on this subject after the police decided that Dominic Cummings did not break lockdown rules and no further action was needed.

Except that's not what they said.

As their statement, widely published, shows they said that he did break the rules with his trip to Barnard Castle, "Had a Durham Constabulary police officer stopped Mr Cummings driving to or from Barnard Castle, the officer would have spoken to him, and, having established the facts, likely advised Mr Cummings to return to the address in Durham, providing advice on the dangers of travelling during the pandemic crisis. Had this advice been accepted by Mr Cummings, no enforcement action would have been taken."

So they would have treated him the same as an ordinary member of the public and only taken enforcement action had he ignored their advice.

They did treat him the same as an ordinary member of the public by not taking retrospective action against him. "In line with Durham Constabulary’s general approach throughout the pandemic, there is no intention to take retrospective action in respect of the Barnard Castle incident since this would amount to treating Mr Cummings differently from other members of the public. Durham Constabulary has not taken retrospective action against any other person."

The Guardian....????........Why not add the Independent too, they come from the same quarter...????

What about the Durham constabulary press statement?

Do you consider that to be leftie, anti Tory, Remainer lies?

This Morgan?

Journalists haven't been impartial for a very long time & this clown is at the forefront of their demise.

Cummings and/or Spooksville should play him at his own game by looking closely at any dalliance between Morgan & say Reid; Hawkins or Beresford...

And yet he was praised to the rafters for his pro Brexit stance wasn't he.

So, like at least one other poster, you consider the Mail, Telegraph etc. to be left wing?

Yes we dont need a variety of opinions in the press. What we need is strict adherence to the right wing and any dissenting voices should be shouted down and hanged for treason.

Your record shows that when a journalist says something you agree with it's because they're impartial, but when it's something you don't agree with it's because they're biased.

You praise for Morgan when he was condemning the EU and supporting Brexit and current condemnation of him for criticising Cummings is ample proof of that!

More assumptions eh.....????

Maybe, but an assumption based upon their oft expressed support of and agreement with Griffin, Yaxley-Lennon and others with similar alt-right extremist politics.

BTW, don't bother coming back with examples of left wing extremism; I'm against that, too.

Comparing what Cummings did to starting a war in the Middle East under false pretences. Really?

I dunno... Lefty newspapers on their last gasp, hard Brexit coming soon, a good chance of Trump winning another term... You would think the Thaivisa patriotic faction would be on cloud nine, but no, they are still full of bitterness and resentment, judging by their rebarbative comments on these threads. Some folk are only happy when they are not happy, it would seem.

I am not comparing breaking lockdown to starting a war anywhere under false pretences. Never did, never will.

What I am saying is that most people consider being deliberately lied to by the government, regardless of which party is in power and especially by the Prime Minister's office, about any subject is not a trivial matter.

As I said in another post; as we were lied to about this, yes at the end of the day trivial, matter; what lies are we being told about the serious stuff?

It's not the subject of the lies which is important, it's that the lies were told at all.
