Usps Will Discontinue Surface M-bag Next Month

Featured Replies

I normally buy books from the usa and have them shipped to me via surface m-bag. This service is provided by the usps but it will discontinue surface m-bag next month leaving only air m-bag which cost me a lot of money. How do you get your books shipped to Thailand cheaply? Can you advice?

:o

No! thats terrible news. I have always shipped books this way as well. I am headed to the US soon and will scope out some options. Very bad news indeed :o

Please cite your source for this news. The service is still offered on the usps website.

For example:

Economy M-bags (Books and Publisher's Periodicals)

(1 piece weighing 11.00 pounds) $11.55

Which is of course much less than an airmail M-bag.

Can't find info about this being discontinued.

Okie, I spent times to dig further and find prof of this sad news.

why don't you go read this yourself...

Now, that i did my homework. Can you go find out what's best alternative? I can't use air m-bag coz it cost too much....

Why don't you do some reseach on this and let us know?

Thanks, I just couldn't find it on the site. Sometimes people post info they have heard casually and isn't true. Unfortunately, this is indeed true. Bad news indeed. I know of no alternative short of making fewer, larger, airmail M-bag shipments.

OK, the rates have changed today and the new international option is out. And not as painful as thought:

A 20 lb box will cost $37 with Priority mail box.
