Unbelievable thats what it is, if you are seriously rich , this case proves you can get away with murder.

Once again the police farce show just how pathetic and useless they are.

It just goes to show the police and the judicial system in Thailand are best money can buy.

How the other half (or 1%) live ! If he had been some poor peasant farmer, this would never have happened. I wonder how the family of the deceased feel about this strange decision ?

  • Absolutely disgusting.  Corruption is alive and bigger than ever in Thailand.  This is like defecating on the victims grave.  You kill someone you should face court no matter who you are.

Sadly typical Thailand. Money is more important than justice and what is right. Just like years ago a certain person killed a policeman in front of numerous witnesses and the charges were dropped.

I have not been buying them since about 2012. Similar to things "Made in China"

Killing someone in your car while speeding and under the influence is not an “accident”.

It’s this sort of regressive attitude that will ensure more people die at the hands of drunk drivers than have to. Let’s hope nobody you care about is killed by a drunk driver.

I agree.

I just try help Boomer. He ask me.

Is anyone here remotely surprised by this outcome ??

It was offered but his widow refused it, she should have taken it and hired a hitman because that would be the only way she would get any justice.

According to BBC News Asia :

The relatives of Sergeant-Major Wichian have said little about the case. As usually happens in these situations, the Yoovidhya family have paid them a large sum of money, around $100,000.

In return they have agreed not to press charges themselves.

This form of backroom dealings and getting away with murder happens in every society and country.  Please don't fool yourselves.

Now it might not be as blatant amd overt, but the authorities did hold it over the red bull family for 5 years which is an impressive feat of endurance and stamina.  This prolonged time was used to most likely get a higher bribe and to let the societal dust to settle down more and with the distraction of an epidemic, you have to admit, it's better darn good timing.

Never let a good crisis go to waste, right?

P.S.  I love Thailand in regards to its corruption because it helps me clearly see and understand the same thing that my home country does everyday albeit a wee bit more subtly ????????????

I don't care if he does, but it is completely irrelevant to this topic. Please answer the question.

I was on Sukhumvit  early that morning on my way to Ekkamai bus station, and I saw that accident scene. I’ve been waiting for eight years to see what would happen with this. I still can picture that officers body laying there with his head it in a growing pool of blood.

I stand corrected then, I read my version shortly after the killing happened, obviously money softens the grief.

Not sure,

but nobody concerned in the sponsoring will dare to comment, afraid of the possibility of repercussions.

Why? Wasn't it the family's maid on her trip in the Ferrari to the grocery store who caused the accident ... ????

Yeah, that'll force a change.

Bwahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Sure it will. You may notice that things that are widely condemned become socially unacceptable. When something becomes socially unacceptable, it’s less likely to happen. People have a natural tendency to conform to social rules. So if the justice system won’t do its job properly, decent people will have to point it out.

bwahahahahahahaha, yeah right.

A tool to incite unrest and provide a pathway to enforce further restrictions and prolong the occupation.

And you feel free to carry on perpetuating it.

Yinn this is a Thailand news web forum, about Thailand. If you want to talk about Amerika, many places on the WW web to find them. Make it so!

Actually, perhaps it is good news.

He will be free to join the rest of his peer group at the demonstrations against the government!

Well, that sure is easier than defending your point.

Yinn, what don't you understand in post 97?

There is a poster here accusing me of committing injustice.

I can not let that go.

In other words, the police have received their final payment that they have been receiving over however long so it’s no longer worth their time as no more money to be made. Disgraceful Thailand at its best....
