Inaugural flight of Thai Vietjet Air from Bangkok to Khon Kaen

Suthep Maneechote, the deputy governor of Khon Kaen province in Thailand's north east was guest of honor as local dignitaries and executives gathered on the tarmac at Khon Kaen airport to greet the inaugural flight of Thai Vietjet Air from Suvarabhumi yesterday morning.

Tourism workers offered free English e-learning courses

The government is offering English for tourism e-learning courses to encourage students, tourism industry personnel, and the general public to develop their English skills. The move by the Department of Tourism follows an Asean agreement on standards for tourism workers.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's economy may have shrank by 12%-13% in the second quarter from a year earlier due to the impacts of the coronavirous pandemic, the central bank said on Friday, in what could be a record contraction.
