Facebook removes Trump post over coronavirus misinformation

Inconvenient truths or misinformation? Is Zuckerberg a medical doctor? No. Do children tend to suffer less from corona virus? I think we all realize the answer is yes. Fact is corona virus is more serious for old, obese, diabetics, the chronically ill. I see nothing inflammatory in Trump trying to stop the fear mongering. Children must be terrified, and keeping them away from their education, early socializing and character building will lead to another lost generation. Get the kids back to school Trump.

And you are defending this enormous baboon? Really?

After as much BS and lies as wells as made up stories that have come out of the mouth of this troll it´s unfathomable that niether Facebook or Twitter have deleted his accounts and blacklisted him for all eternity.

Facebook Inc on Wednesday took down a video by U.S. President Donald Trump in which he said children are "almost immune" to COVID-19, with the company saying it violated its rules against sharing misinformation about the coronavirus.

"Almost immune" is meaningless.  A bit like 'almost winning the lottery'.  In other words, you didn't win it, just as anyone who is almost immune is not immune.

Pretty simple really. The left can have all the gatherings and funerals protests and riots and whatever they like, and even have the audacity to in some cases exempt themselves from their own covid policy in order to do so, yet oh hell no you lowly peasant you can’t attend your own family’s funeral, be employed, or send your kids to school because covid.

While at the same time blaming covid on trump and republicans.

You can understand how that would make people pretty angry right?

Blaming Trump for covid, no; blaming Trump for the pathetic US response to covid, yes.

I for one am delighted they are censoring trump when he spreads lies and disinformation the problem is people die when trump says untruths and ignorant stuff in regards to the virus we all know what to do stay safe and don’t get conned

The problem here is you are making things up. Trump did not say children have immunity as you claim. He said they "ALMOST" have immunity. There is a huge difference. I jumped off the Golden Gate bridge, and I ALMOST jumped off the Golden Gate bridge - they have a rather different outcome. Please try keeping a sense of reality, there is no point just making stuff up to attack Trump.

yes and no, not almost, see Schrödinger's feline paradox, LOL

Oh I get it he’s just gas lighting so that makes it ok to expose kids their teachers and families?

Asymptomatic carriers are not the primary spreaders. It’s the symptomatic carriers that by and large spread covid.

Asymptomatic carriers do spread the virus.  Whether they are the primary or secondary carriers is irrelevant, they spread the virus.

"Evidence shows that 25% to 45% of infected people likely don't have symptoms, Fauci told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Wednesday."

'"And we know from epidemiological studies they can transmit to someone who is uninfected even when they're without symptoms," said Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.'   https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/09/health/asymptomatic-presymptomatic-coronavirus-spread-explained-wellness/index.html

Children do get infected, so the statement "almost immune" is wrong.  Children are less likely to get seriously ill, but some do get very ill and die.  Also, children can spread the virus to others, and since they are less likely to understand and practice virus mitigation rules, they are likely to do so.

But already over 1.5% of the population have it and approaching 0.05% of the country are dead. And I might point out with 50,000+ new cases daily, those numbers are rising, so it is important that wholly accurate information only is provided, to prevent things getting worse than they have to be.

It's already the fifth leading cause of death in the US  https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/leading-causes-of-death.htm and certain to be the third leading cause by year end.  'nuff said.

Well i haven't heard of any dead children from corona....where were they? And how many in total, caused solely by corona?

I never said they didn’t. Why can’t you guys read? It’s like you all read a post then reply with a rebuttal to something I never said. It’s weird.

And whether they are the primary spreaders or at very low risk for spreading the virus is very relevant, at least I would have thought coming from the ‘listen to the experts’ crew.

Why is it relevant whether they are primary or secondary spreaders of the virus?  They spread the virus.   They also catch the virus.

Since children can catch the virus, spread the virus and die from the virus, Trump's post is at the very least dangerously misleading.  It was proper to remove it.

I never said they were ‘primary’ or ‘secondary’ spreaders. Again you’re having a fit over something I never said. I said asymptomatic carriers are low risk for spreading covid over symptomatic carriers. That combined with their very low infection rate and very high survival rate makes them extremely low risk for both catching and spreading covid. Does science as facts all of a sudden not matter?

As of August 5 there were 45 under age 15 in the US.

An unsurprisingly minuscule number.

Edit: and no doubt several had serious comorbidities who would be isolated anyway.

Oiii Einstein, when the kids go home, they would carry the virus back to their parents and extended families......dumbass

Ok fellas, just keep schools closed, continue to charge property owners taxes for schooling that isn’t happening and blocking parents from going to work all at the same time because covid.

Then have a few more public funerals, protests, and riots to show those same parents on the news while they sit home thinking <deleted>.

Very bold strategy, guys. I do not understand how anyone in their right mind thinks this is a winner but apparently this forum has quite the strange demographic.

Besides dead, question already answered, they also infect others.

Really?  I provided a source showing they do spread the virus, enough to be of concern to the CDC.  Can you provide a current source showing they "asymptomatic carriers are low risk for spreading covid"?

I could not find an infection rate by age for all of the US, but 9.3% of infections in California are under 17.  That means the age group is less likely to be infected, but 9.3% doesn't qualify as "very rarely" to me.  What is your source for your "very rarely" claim?

Please don't respond again with your general assessments, use credible sources.

Science and facts do matter, and science and facts justify removing Trump's misleading post.

The post pulled was incorrect, accept that and move on, and put your rants about schools staying closed in the thread about schools staying closed. This thread is about Trump's deleted post due to spreading false information.

Treat frontline and essential workers kids like Trump kids and send  everyone safely to school. Period.

The only precaution Trump takes for his fellow citizens is to have them sign a waiver. What a winner.

Zuckerberg and those guys are very generous to him. They should ban him altogether. Every other person trolling, lying and flaming like him on a discussion board would have get banned already. Unless you’re a 14yo on 4chan maybe. Removing one post stills leaves the thousands of other posts full of lies and hatred.

Ahhh nooo it’s not the left that’s trying to end democracy lol it must be hard to constantly try to justify this New York conman

I had lunch with a very conservative friend the other day who actually tried to push an argument that all democrats hate America. Partly because some of us support the protests.

Where do the machinations of a democracy fit into that picture? No room for dissent? Or simply no room to criticize the Master?

Such tired and juvenile nonsense. Time to return to civility. Let us get rid of the divider in chief. It cannot happen soon enough.

Right now, Trump is Biden's top ally.
