Police and the military were called to keep order as 400 Myanmar workers at a textile company in Mae Sot, Tak, in north western Thailand protested.

The Cortina Eiger company had told its workers they would reopen after two months but have allegedly reneged on that by saying they will shut for two months more.

Consequently 400 workers find themselves left high and dry.

Police were negotiating with the workers' leader The The, 25, yesterday, reported Daily News.

The authorities were worried about the spread of coronavirus and urged the workers' representatives to take up their grievances with the management directly.

B.S...  70+ days without domestic infections so where is the danger coming from?

The company should be paying the workers if they say the Covid 19 is the reason for the extended closure.
