Recommended hospital in Phuket for child birth

Featured Replies

Got any good or bad experiences? Which hospitals are overpriced and which are worth it?

The Thai government hospitals are generally worth it as there's no charge for a Thai to give birth there.

Just take the general hospitals. They are sometimes even better than the private.

@BritManToo That´s the wrong information. My Thai wife has been given birth to our two daughters, and there is a cost associated. We payed about 10k per child, plus 5k to the private doctor we wished to deliver the babies. After that there was room and board as well medicine for 3 days. Total about 15k per child and the private clinic took only 5k. The doctor from the private clinic also worked in the hospital, and the hospital kept 10k per child. This is not even in the big city, where I assume it will be a higher price.

My wife and I used Mission Hospital paying for a private room. My wife chose the lady gyneacologist Dr Kessema. We were very pleased. If you can afford it then Bangkok Phuket.

Both of our grandchildren were born at Mission Hospital. A large private room and good care. I don't recall the cost, other than it seemed very reasonable, and our daughter's insurance paid most of the bill.

Phuket International Hospital(now Siriraj International Hospital) had a package deal.

Birth + two nights in a nice hotel-like private room for 30k baht. Must arrange the package well ahead of the birth.
