The CCSA’s panel considering the easing of lockdown restrictions has agreed to allow spectators to attend sports events and to allow Chinese traders to enter Thailand to buy Thai fruit for export.

The panel’s chairman, General Somsak Rungsita, who is also Secretary-General of the National Security Council, said Friday that his panel has agreed, in principle, that spectators will be allowed to attend all sporting events, but the measures to be applied may differ, depending on whether the sports are held indoors or outdoors.

He said that the panel will wait to receive more details, about the different measures, and the limitations of the number of spectators for each sports event, from the Sports Authority of Thailand.

Allow sporting event spectators???? Seriously....no! How will you know where they are and where they intend to go? Buy a ticket to see a football match and then you can go wherever you want? Do they have to quarantine? This is absolute madness.

No this does not mean you can come into Thailand to watch sports. Its a seperated comment from allowing fruit traders into Thailand. There were quite a few spectator sports that still were not allowed.

No problem as long as they go through the 14 day quarantine on arrival

Indeed as long as they go to quarantine its ok. I do wonder if that will happen because these guys wont come through the airport. Its a risk. But if they can handle this with 14 days quarantine its a good thing to make the economy run again.

Yes but that will give the authorities time to process the work permits for trading fruit........

Allowing people to attend sporting events is virtually no risk.  There was a concert recently were several thousand people attended, no social distancing and very few wearing masks.  All attendees were tested, all results were negative.

Completely unnecessary, fruit can be purchased via an agent acting on behalf of Chinese buyers..

KEEP THE BORDERS CLOSED.

shows the desperation of the thai govt to get extra cash into the country, china has just had a bubonic plague infected person die, they have had heaps of covid problems rising up again and this idiot wants to let them back into Thailand to infect the country, shows exactly how pathetic this govt is to even think of allowing them in without all the current requirements for anyone entering the country before people that actually live in Thailand or have family here
