Pattaya: Mayor says no plans for on street car parking charges

Pattaya's mayor responded after rumors circulated online that the resort was charging for on street parking in various areas of town.

A document purporting to confirm this was circulated and shared.

Mayor Sontaya Khunpluem said that the document in question was just a temporary measure during drainage work on Beach Road and did not represent a change in policy.

Regulations about street parking remain as per a 1983 ordinance that was modified in 2002.

Maybe the mayor could reduce some of the curbside red-striped no parking traps around the city and while he's at it, have the long red "bus zone" removed to facilitate easier parking, for as far as I know, there is no bus service running in Pattaya.
