Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
About 20 police officers mishandled Vorayuth’s hit and run case About 20 police officers, including a police commissioner, have been found, by a police fact-finding panel, to be at fault over the mishandling the Red Bull heir’s hit-and-run case. Pol Lt-Gen Charuwat Waisaya, the assistant police chief and chair of the panel, said today that he had submitted the findings, and the list of the 20 officers, to the national police chief, Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, for consideration of disciplinary or legal action to be taken against them. Of the 20 officers, nine were earlier found to be at fault by the National Anti-Corruption Commission. Popular Post Somtamnication
Such is the issue in a feudal society. Those 20 cops did not wake up that morning thinking of large envelopes. They saw a hi-so person in a hit and run, they knew their jobs are on the line if they did their job and got caught. Happens every day in Thailand. 13

Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
This ending pgh of the Thai PBS report deserved to be quoted and get more attention: Quote Mr. Vicha said that a forensics officer, Pol Col Thanasit Taengchan, who revised his estimate of the car’s speed, from 177kph to less than 80kph, was questioned by his panel for over three hours, during which he admitted that he was under heavy pressure to change the speed and that he is now concerned for his safety. Wonder how Thailand's former anti-human trafficking police general is doing these days in Australia after fleeing there under the cover of political asylum.... What could these guys possibly be worried about here in little ole' Thailand? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/dec/10/thailands-most-senior-human-trafficking-investigator-to-seek-political-asylum-in-australia# Quote Thailand’s most senior police investigator into human trafficking is seeking political asylum in Australia, saying he fears for his life because influential figures in the Thai government, military and police are implicated in trafficking and want him killed. Major General Paween Pongsirin arrived in Melbourne a few days ago on a tourist visa and has now told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s 7.30 program and Guardian Australia he plans to seek asylum. For a respected and high-profile police investigator to flee the country and make such serious allegations will be highly embarrassing for the Thai government. Sure, and what's possible is that some cops don't want to get into corruption but before they realize it it's deliberately happened and they're frightened of the wrath of their 'senior' (who must be obeyed and never questioned) to return the spoils. And they know trying to escape corruption will probably effect their promotion etc., because they're not part of the 'team'. Well in your twenty years you have never seen the Police standing at the traffic lights letting drivers go by, on the wrong side of the road, on the payment. You have never seen police stopping people for no reason extorting money for no reason. You must have never had to deal with police over a theft where they will only look into it if you pay them. These are just a few examples of complete incompetence. Either you are blind or oblivious to what incompetence is.
