webfact Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Police tell shopkeepers to identify ‘hungry’ thief By THE NATION A shop owner in Phetchaburi province posted a security camera recording on Sunday (August 23) of her shop being burgled, with a comment saying that instead of doing their duty, the police have asked her to provide the first and last name of the thief. The clip, posted by grocery store owner Siriporn Tupmebun, 37, showed a shirtless man helping himself to packets of instant noodles and a kettle. Siriporn’s husband Sittidet said their shop was robbed on the night of August 12, and when they went to report the case on the following day, they were told by police to return with the identity of the robber. He added that as of Sunday, police have done nothing to help them. Siriporn said this incident has taught them to be more careful, adding that her shop had never been robbed before and this theft may be put down to the economic slowdown.
