Just check economic figures like GDP, economic output and compare the UK with other countries in northern Europe. The UK is poor, compared to other countries in Europe. It is a FACT.

Quite hypocritical when you consider Farage's wife is German and is an immigrant allowed in through EU rules and got her passport through the family "chain" immigration process.

When I was in the UK employing people I had the privilege of taking on a few who you would call "illegal immigrants" as they had fled war-zones or from families of refugees, and these had gone on to learn English, get their higher degrees (doctorates) and work in the most highly technically skilled areas - areas which the UK still wants people to come an work in (Boris's high value visas who do not even need a job offer).

 

So that person in a dinghy may be poor, but his or her kids could turn out to be a rocket scientist, brain surgeon or the internet billionaire - think on...

The facts are that I don't want any of them, the 4 million from the EU, or the current average 500 per day illegals in dinghies. 

 

Thought about all those unlikely scientists and surgeons, and don't want them either. They can enrich their parents' countries.

     The origional agreement was a building block on which further agreements of Britain leaving the EU was based, but the EU has made the talks increasingly difficult, in order to keep Britain tied to the block in one way or another.

     Britain should just walk away now, and accept it's not going to get a reasonable deal from the EU anyway.

Anyway, if the EU are not going to abide by the terms of the treaty I see no reason why the UK should. The EU has consistently undermined UK sovereignty by demanding a level playing field in which they decide UK laws and regulations, as well as ECJ jurisdiction and free access to fishing waters in return for the trade deal. I have grown weary apologising for Johnson and his band of inadequate bed fellows in government.  Of course he will lie and duck and dive like the conman he truly is.  He lies to the people of Britain on a daily basis so who would trust him to keep his word over the Brexit withdrawal agreement that HE agreed and signed off on.

Stop per 1 Jan 20201 all payments tothe UK: no EU supported and subsidized programs, no pensions, nothing. Even not the rent payments of the London office of the Euro Medicin Agency.

Start any anti-dumping regulations to UK products imported into the EU.

Schengen visa per 1 Jan 2021 for all British, who want to visit the EU. (Ask your Thai neighbour, what it means) .

And stop all trading of OUR MONEY ( €) in the UK. No pensions via the City anymore.

An important nation, which many here are proud of, but strangely accepting that their seniors/veterans receive the lowest benefit in Europe.

You are absolutely correct (apart from the Gary bit).  Britain has a terrible record when it comes to pensions for the elderly and their care in general.  My friends in Europe all get considerably more than you get in the UK.

 

"Gazza" refers to Gary Lineker who presents Match of the Day, a long established program bringing highlights of weekend football matches.  He also hosts various shows including Sports Personality of the Year.  He also commentates on many Premier League matches throughout the year.  He is the BBC's highest paid presenter who recently voluntarily took a pay cut to bring him more in line with the others.  And of course he was one of the best footballers Britain ever had!
