Trump Pressed for a Plasma Treatment. Officials Worry, Is a Vaccine Next?

But on Sunday night, the eve of the convention, the president announced, with the FDA’s approval, that plasma therapy would be available for wider use, and he declared that it could reduce deaths by 35%, vastly overstating what the data had shown about the benefits.....

A Mad Scramble to Stock Millions of Malaria Pills, Likely for Nothing

The Food and Drug Administration’s abrupt decision this week to revoke an emergency waiver for two malaria drugs promoted by President Trump as potential “game changers” against the coronavirus has left 66 million doses stranded in the federal stockpile — and officials do not yet know what they will do with them.

Same as 2016.  Americans won’t so much vote for Trump.  They will vote against Biden, like the voted against Hillary.

In 2016, most Americans voted for HRC. In 2018, Democrat candidates won the Congress majority. I think that there is more "anyone but Trump" voters, compared to "anyone but Biden" voters. Part of is maybe because as Trump supporters say, Biden is kinda boring. Boring doesn't generate that much antagonism.

Most TV responders despise Donald Trump.  I get that.  But so does Chairman Xi.

Wrong, one more time. We have this affinity to despise the people who support him. They do in any way necessary.

trump told the world when he "birthed" the President. So we have a solid belief of who he is. No reason he changes ever.

You can see that 36% TVF do still follow his every utterance.

Many Americans have no idea what it means. They will call anything that is even fractionally to the left of their own far-right ideas and views “radical far left”, or “socialist” or whatever. By European standards, probably about 99% of American politicians are to the (far) right of the political spectrum.

I wouldn't say American politicians are that uniformly right wing, and certainly not far right. That's simply exaggerating in the opposite direction. Biden, for example, is nothing "far". He's centrist-right, with some variations depending on issues. Sanders is not "radical", but simply Left. And so on.

If you watch these Trump supporters on the news they are pretty much in a state of denial whatever information they are given. One woman who has been a nurse for twenty five years stated the masks were useless. A man said the Virus was bogus, and when the reporter pointed out what Trump has said about the Virus being deadly, the man said he was wrong. Very sad how many people will die from their own ignorance.

I don't entirely agree. This is Darwin's principles of natural selection in practice and reducing the stupidity of the population has some clear benefits. What is sad is that they're not only killing themselves but others around them.

Depends what decade.  America has gone further right in the last 2 decades.  I think it's a last gasp of the boomers just before it swings the other way.
