Bangkok tourist Extension - what you actually need

There's a lot of incorrect information around, so hopefully this helps.

Went to Muang Thong Thani immigration today (16-Sep) at 8am, was out by 9am. There were not many other people there and it was better organized than in April.

American. 2nd renewal (first was in April before the amnesty).

They only gave me a provisional stay until 7-Oct but said come back then (most people seemed to have gotten full extensions - might have just been me).

Needed: TM7, photo, copy of photo page on passport, copy of visa page on passport (incl TM6), letter from embassy. 1 copy each. Nothing else was taken (I had nearly everything mentioned on this forum).

I left the "why" section blank intentionally. The lady just told me to write "Covid-19".

Thank you. Very helpful.

I assume you can get the tm7 forms when you are there or do you have to print them yourself?

Also, if my girlfriend and i are both applying for an extension do we need to book two appointments or just one?

They will have the forms you can complete while waiting.

You will need 2 appointments.

I need to extend the tourist visa i have a covid letter.

i normally arrive at mo chit BTS and then hop on a motorbike taxi so I need to ask him to take me to ‘ muong thon thani’?

Last time I went they actually had a sign saying tourist extensions needs to go to the new building in muong thon Thani but I tried my luck at Chang wattana and nobody said anything - they dealt with it there and then so I’m a bit confused...

also do I need to make an appointment on an app this time round ? Should I just do it when I arrive ?

what if I have a Nokia 3310 that doesn’t support support internet ?

I recommend printing out before. I didn't see any place with them handy. And to make a copy, it's a 10 minute walk to another building so depending on the weather could be annoying.

One is probably fine. Or just print two copies. They don't look very closely.

You need to make an appointment before midnight.

It will be a bit of a ride compared to CW but doable. Here's the exact address: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oz9tHssGRPwfzDJa8

Two buildings. One to make copies or print as well as 90 day check ins. The other is "k counter" which is actually 2 buildings. There's signs everywhere for "Counter K"

For visa extensions, you want counter K

This is a really interesting post.  Thank you.  I went to the immigration in a city south of Hua Hin.  I was told that I missed the deadline for the tourist extension because it takes 2 weeks to process.  I was told that I have to leave the country by September 26.  I brought all the same paperwork as you did.  I don't quite know what to make of this.

I’m currently on amnesty since April 7 which is my last permitted day to stay within the kingdom then use a covid letter from the states before amnesty was announced. Currently again have 2nd US covid letter and plan to go MTT. My question is does the online appointment apply to me? Or do I just get in que such as the first time during April. Would very much appreciate some clarity.

Have you brought an embassy letter with you?

I recommend going to the one in Huahin proper if you're close. It's probably the best run in Thailand.

You just flash it and they allow you to queue. It's not really an actual appointment, it just allows you in. The lines are nothing like they were on April 7 and it's much better organized.

Just give my experience.  I went to the muang thong thani immigration and applied for a tourist visa extension.  I previously had a METV.  I was given an "under consideration" stamp until Oct 1 and told to come back on Oct 1 to get my Oct. 26 Stamp.  They did ask a lot of questions about my Embassy letter, whether it was printed or I actually got it from the embassy because it did not have a raised seal on it.  I don't know if they expect people to embassy letters with a seal? I don't think any embassy is is giving those out.

So there’s no actual need for me to book online appointment and just show up with embassy letter and queue in line? Because another post mentioned the online appointment is necessary. I’m confused
