Car key replacement

Featured Replies

How new is the car, is it one of those ignition keys with a transponder chip potted into the key turn handle? If so you'll either need to go to dealer (or find an aftermarket seller with the special key and instructions of how to add it to the vehicle. THESE can be really pricey.

If it's just a standard all metal key then most any watch repair / key replacement hop will cut you a duplicate for less than 100baht.

Isn't there a guy doing this in Big-CX? He has a small kiosk rather than a shop located on the Klang side / left as you walk into the food court.

Yes thanks for replies.  The key has a chip in it,the plastic chip holder and key blade became detached.  Have seen the guy on 7/11 corner ,quoted 1500,but turns out he cannot fix. Another 2000  Big Key,but took it to small garage, seems they can do it (repair) for 2 to 3 hundred

you should be able to transfer the chip to the new key, if it has buttons etc then you need the same key and transfer the circuit board, shouldn't be too difficult to do yourself if you have the proper key replacement
