Popular Post ronaldo0
Basically all standing around scratching their behinds and watching what every other country is doing , then spouting off about it as if they thought off it ! If this nonsense is still going on by xmas and new year then there will be a lot of very very unhappy and poor people in tourist areas and tourism related jobs !

This Dr. Yong did not say anything for three days already. Did he catch Covid locally maybe? But, I don't think he will limit himself to requiring 16 days only this time. Keep in mind that a few days ago, for their "300 tourist to rescue Thailand by joining a cooking course to learn making Green-Curry-Pizza while in quarantine"-scheme, the health ministry sentenced these dirty-foreigner-guests to 28 days quarantine already. 14 days before the flight, plus 14 days after the flight when in Thailand. I think Yong will stick to minimum 28 days. Edited September 26, 2020 by Flying Saucage

dash
quarantine is good for nothing, 0 day is ok . All humans will get in contact with some corona antigens from different virus mutations sooner or later. Virus production is not sine qua non. "Wrong" immune cells are responsible for the diseases. the hint concerning a good vaccine : vaccination is based on antigens 1

There is always 'a price on life'. Otherwise every penny a country earned would go to the health budget. Or in Thailand’s case they would spend far more on roads and driver training to save 25,000 lives per year. 5

rickudon
Of course, 5% of people with flu do not die. It is more like 0.01-0.05%, just another poster who doesn't know what they are posting about. But 3% for Covid - that is 'about' right. Anyway, Covid has already probably killed more people this year than any flu pandemic has since the Spanish flu of 100 years ago - and it is no way finished yet. It will be not be how many thousands, but how many millions die (1st million will be officially passed this weekend). 1

And what happens if any tourist is found positive after few days out on the streets? Find everybody that was in their proximity and isolate them? I agree the country should open up and that quarantine is expensive and will deter many tourists from coming. But no quarantine at all and let everybody from everywhere in is not the answer either
