My bf (Thai) will be trying for another tourist visa for Canada. He was granted the first one and we went to Canada for 6 weeks last July. His circumstances have not changed but mine have. I was working in Korea at the time. This time I will have moved back to Thailand, will not have started the new job yet but will have documentation showing that I will start my new job once we return from Canada. Does the fact that he already has had a visa count in his favor?

Any thoughts?

hahaha I wish!

I am not married yet so he is still my bf and for some reason I don't call him my fiance..sounds funny to me. When he applies for the visa we will not be married yet. And for work I will be flying a lot between Korea, Thailand and Canada so on one of those trips we will then be married and I will be returning with a non imm O hopefully. Nice being a saucy minx there for a bit...but alas Im just a soon to be wifey.

Hey Meme... you dont have to explain yourself to me :o I say nothing.

To answer your question.... don't take anything for granted (whoever it is who comes to visit :D )

Unfortunately there is a guy on this page of this forum who's g/f failed to get the third visa after successfully getting two. Your visitor should provide his reason to return to Thailand as before and if you are sponsor you should provide evidence of funds too. Evidence of your relationship and the fact that you are leaving Canada should go to support his reason to return also. Good luck

Thanks MA, you're always my man, answering my questions! (and no, that is not a line I use on all the fellas! :D ) I did notice the other thread you mentioned so I think not taking anything for granted is sound advise. Thanks again. :D

Hi I'm the guy from the other thread. Spoke to the ECM today and he is going to overturn the decision to refuse the visa. Whilst he didn't apologise directly, the fact that he is willing to overturn the decision appears to me that they have acknowledged their error. That's good enough for me, just happy she's going to get the visa. The ECM as a good chap and very approachable so maybe we got lucky having him review our application.

All the best,

Stam

Great News, well done, your g/f did well too. Good luck

Thanks mate. It's good on this site that everybody tries to help each other and even if a bad experience they give feedback that might be useful to others as well as hope.

Cheers

It is really good news. Congrats to the both of you! :bah: It really is exhausting all of this isn't it. I always want to tell ppl who's partners are from the same country, or can at least enter without all of this work, to really be thankful as they have noooo idea how stressful and how much work it can be applying for visas! This forum has been such help for so many, including myself. :D
