Bye Bye Big Sam

Featured Replies

So Big Sam has gone. Bit of a strange time to hand in your resignation , 2 games to go and 5th in the league. Must admit he has done a great job with Bolton , they were going no-where and he has taken them to a place in europe.

But do the bung allegations still haunt him and where is his next stop ???. My guess is Man City with Psycho taking the under 21's full time.

I would have taken him at Sunderland (as rumoured) last summer before Keane arrived, but wouldn't rock the boat now.

I think he has already been hired elsewhere. I would fancy he's off to Manchester City, unless he's off to Oldham or Stockport County!!

I'm sure he's got more sense than to join the sinking ship at Leeds.

But there are so many possiblities.

If it ain't the bungs. The maybe bye-bye Roeder ?

Your right in thinking that he'll end up at Man City and I reckon he'll do a good job there ( better than the <deleted> they have had lately anyway :D ).

He is a good manager at middle level clubs but any aspirations he's got about managing a big team are pie in the sky :D:D .

The question now is who will take over at Bolton and who can fill big Sams boots ???? , remember what happend to Charlton when their big man Curbishley left :o:D .

Do not rule out Newcastle being Sams next employer

It will either be City or Newcastle who have bn underperforming for years now considering the wealth of the club and the massive support they have

Not saying City are not a massive club but my gut feeling tels me he will be at Newcastle next year, mid table mediocrity is not good enough for the Geordie faithful, and that could become evient if they loose to Reading tonight

I second that prediction ThaiPauly , though I have heard on the grapevine that Gus Hiddink is going to be the geordies new boss.

A bit off Topic but why would any body want to stay in Bolton :D made a lucky escape from Breightmet in the 60,s before the scouse crimewave from Skem hit the 3 B,s( bolton,BlackburnandBurnley), thank goodness for a real soccer team Schalke 04!! :o:D Nignoy

PS got this photo of the Bolton Trainer on my last trip to UK

Sammy Lee has taken over at Bolton and it looks like he is going to be there full time manager. Is this the right move for the trotters ???? , Sammy is a great coach but being the number 1 guy might be a bit too much for him. Do hope a fellow scouser does well though :o:D .

So it looks like big sam is defo on his way to Newcastle.

I reckon Sam will want to make an imediate impression on the club and I think we will be saying good-bye to a lot of the current geordie players ( probably not a bad thing :o ).

Not really many good players there , Parker and Milner are both still young enough but have had a lot of chances already.

Michael Owen has a 9 million buy out clause and whatever team takes that option has to be taking a bit of a gamble.

The only player I can see playing for one of the top 4 teams is Obefermi Martins , wonder how much he'll cost ???.

I can see Big Sam raiding his former club with the likes of Nolan , Anelka and others joining him at Newcastle , IF he takes the job of course :D .

I think he'd make a big mistake going to Newcastle (as is looking increasingly likely). Frankly, I don't rate him as a manager and think he's talked up too much. He's also a bit dodgy on the financial side of things.

At Bolton he's protected; they frankly don't expect to succeed there. At Newcastle they would be expected to succeed with him in place and I can't see it happening. I think he could ruin his reputation there.

How long you reckon before he gets sacked :o:D:D:D !!!!!!.

Looks like Big Sam is defo on his way to the Geordies then.

Just another "messiah" for Newcastle or the real deal ???..... :o .

Even though its not that difficult to do a better job managerial job at Newcastle than what the likes of Roeder , Robson , Souness , Gullit and the legend King Kenny Dalglish have done , I reckon Big Sam will do an excellent job and show his true worth at a big club.

And it looks like he's got a huge transfer budget ( 40 million ) for the first time in his career. Wonder who is first on his shopping list , looks like Viduka first and I reckon Kevin Nolan will follow.
