The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported 22 new cases in quarantine facilities over a 24-hour period on Monday.

Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the CCSA, said that 18 of the new cases are Thais.

Sixteen Thai soldiers, 27-54 years old, returned from a UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan on September 22 and tested positive on September 26.

A 13-year-old male student returned from Pakistan on September 13, travelling in a flight that had two confirmed cases, and tested positive on September 26.

A 24-year-old Thai soldier returned from Philippines on September 24 and tested positive on September 26.

Four Indian nationals who travelled from India on September 23 also tested positive. They included a family of three -- a seven-year-old child, its mother, 35, and father, 38. They tested positive on September 26, while a 30-year-old Indian male employee also tested positive in an alternative state quarantine facility on September 25.

Meanwhile, two patients have recovered and been discharged.

The total number of confirmed cases in Thailand increased to 3,545 (607 in state quarantine), of whom 117 are in hospital, 3,369 have recovered and been discharged, and 59 have died.

According to Worldometer, as of 10am on Monday, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 33.3 million (up by 251,915 over a 24-hour period), 24.63 million have recovered, 7.66 million are active cases (64,996 in serious condition) and deaths have crossed one million.

Thailand ranks 138th for most cases in the world, while the US has the most number with 7.32 million, followed by India 6 million, Brazil 4.73 million, Russia 1.15 million and Colombia 813,056.

Dr Taweesin revealed that the percentage of people wearing a mask had dropped from 98 per cent to around 82 per cent. He urged people to keep wearing masks as the virus was yet to be contained.

over  28 million have died normally in the same time period.

What on earth is dying normally and is there a normal way to die?

Seems like Thailand is also joining the global <deleted> fooling program, I don’t blame them because no one can pull out of this staged plan. This is the way of preparing for the mandatory vaccination program no matter you are locked or open, then I ask you what the hell you keep the countries locked and keep the people restricted and taking their freedom away without any point?

Does anyone have the factual reason why Thai's are the majority of infected CV19 cases returning?  I could belt out my unqualified, albeit obvious answer, but that would offend the apologists.

Maybe not factual, but as Thais have no hoops to jump through to fly in, there are probably a lot more Thais than other nationalities entering Thailand at the moment.

Thais don't need testing = infected Thais on the planes spreading it to the others.

And the airlines claiming little risk on plane as filtered air by special filters.....

yeah , a big economy with big money involved is the answer probably ...

There has to be something basic , and very wrong with a system that allows 22 people to be infected and to travel.

Were they tested at point of departure correctly ?

Were they tested correctly at point of entry ?

Are the Quarantine facilities infected ?

Are the staff at the Quarantine facilities infected ?

Are the testing procedures wrong ?

There are so many questions, for which the correct and true answers have to be found before any attempt to allow Tourists back to Thailand.

If you want to catch COVID then get quarantined in Thailand it seems !
Think I will wait this one out till the government quarantine is done away with ! How insane is it they force foreigners to test and have certificates etc before they can fly into the country , but Thais can just get on untested and just about every person returning from Middle East seems to have it !

Frightening. Get the hazmat suits. Start welding doors shut. Fear and obey.

It really does seem like the low hanging fruit were taken in April-May.

Nice ethnocentric graph. Sadly the virus likes to travel. Show a graph for dead in the USA or Brazil.
