Flu Shot

Featured Replies

I think it's that time of year. What is the best flu shot for Thailand and the best place to get it?

I'm in Bangkok

Unknown what other version's may be available.  The vaccination I was given last month was Fluquadri, a southern strain and that was at BNH Hospital here in Sathorn.  It was 900 Baht out of pocket, but my US based insurance refunded the entire amount to me.

Also, as I'm new to living in the LoS, any tips on the likelihood of encountering counterfeit vaccines and where they are more likely to be found (or not) would be greatly appreciated.

No issue on counterfeit flu vaccine,

This is actually almost the end of the flu season in Thailand, not the beginning. Flu season in SE Asia is the rainy season. You can still get vaccinated if you and probably should as some flu is present year round,  but in future, get it around May.

If you take flu shot every year around this time. Then go for it.

If you take flu shot at the beginning of THAI flu season (around May) , wait for next May.

Flu shot is practically everywhere vaccines are provided.

Pediatric clinics are safe bet.

Ended up going to Sikarin Hospital and got the four-in-one.

Seemed very professional, Baht 980 all-in.

Met with a doctor and the nurse gave me the shot. Asked the doctor about getting shot in May, and she said that yes, they get the new vaccines in May so I guess I'll get another one then.
