Well known Korat hotel closes

Thai media reported that the well known Sri Patana hotel on Surannaree Road in downtown Nakhon Ratchasima announced they were shutting as of October 1st.

 

The media said it was temporary but there was no evidence of this in a post from the hotel that thanked guests for their patronage over the last nine years.

Yeah, closed borders and from 40 million tourists to zero, might just do that.

Did they ever have foreign tourists, apart from the Moto GP time ?

I always stay at the Romyen Garden Place for Moto GP. Smaller but a little bit more upmarket. Same price but has onsite brothel.

 

Thais are the bread and butter for both hotels.

Well worth a weekend, but get some recommendations from the locals first otherwise, in common with other Issan towns, you would come away thinking (wrongly) that nothing's going on after dusk.

I've stayed there for a couple of weekends. Nothing going on after dusk. Monkey Bar, that's your lot.
