Red Bull Boss: Red notice not a warrant, problems persist say RTP

An assistant police commissioner in Thailand has expressed worries  about the so called "Red Notice" issued by Interpol for fugitive Red Bull heir Boss Yoodidhya.

Pol Maj-Gen Jaruwat Waisaya said that a red notice is not an arrest warrant but just a notice or alert of where the suspect might be.

This point was made by Thaivisa when it was first announced that the red notice was being issued.

Basically we pointed out that the red notice is toothless.

The RTP now accept this with Jaruwat telling the Thai media that they could be unable to get the suspect's address and thus be hamstrung in applying for his extradition.

Boss's whereabouts are unknown at this time.

He is wanted for dragging and killing a policeman under the wheels of his Ferrari in the Thong Lo area of Bangkok in September 2012 and cocaine use.

The case was revived after a public outcry when charges were dropped against the billionaire.

As in there is no will to apprehend someone who is part of a wealthy family for a crime that any other average citizen would have tracked down and incarcerated within a matter of days.

Now, there's the persisting "problem."

He wasn't on any red notice when I checked, at least not under the name given here by TV, although he'll have plenty of company all 7 thousand of them and quite correct, a red notice is not an arrest notice.

I'd like to see all the people who were involved in the dodgy dealings get arrested while your waiting for him to surface

They can find him if they really want .. alternatively if they really are that inept just call Dog the Bounty Hunter .. he'll have him back in no time .. but there in lies the rub .. you gotta wonder if they really want him back and all the loss of face that'll bring .. maybe just better to play numpty and pretend not to know where he is ..

The RTP is a symptom not the cause.

Anyone who believes the elite in Thailand aren't heavily behind burying this case is delusional.

The whole Red Notice thing in itself is a smokescreen to keep the peasants happy, even though anyone with half a brain cell knows it's worthless if the issuing authority isn't prepared to issue an extradition warrant.

Last time, with a Red Notice in effect and pics of him in London resulted in radio silence, why expect something different this time?

Time to give it up boys. This is more akin to a reality TV show than real justice

They sure do! It's the clowns that have handled this whole case from the very beginning! SHAME, RTP, SHAME on you!

Some Thai agencies have no problem locating political dissidents and dealing with them, maybe they could ask those agencies to assist.....

Send a bounty hunter or a hitman and he will be found in a few days.

Keep kicking that can down the road...

Hahahahahaha, Solid effort !!

Khun Boss will be laughing heartily.

Same thing they did before the charges were dropped.  Never really made an attempt to get him.

From Interpol's website

"What is a Red Notice?

A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.

It contains two main types of information:

  • Information to identify the wanted person, such as their name, date of birth, nationality, hair and eye colour, photographs and fingerprints if available.
  • Information related to the crime they are wanted for, which can typically be murder, rape, child abuse or armed robbery.

Red Notices are published by INTERPOL at the request of a member country, and must comply with INTERPOL’s Constitution and Rules. A Red Notice is not an international arrest warrant."

It is a request for provisional arrest pending extradition proceedings being started by the originating country, so not exactly toothless. Thailand likes to shout about it when they assist other countries in locating and arresting people for extradition, not so toothless then.

The Spanish police detained McAfee ,whom the US wanted

Yes, we understand you, Jaruwat. Go back to doing what you do best.
