PM says Opposition has forgotten the massive corruption during Pheu Thai administration

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha hit back at opposition Pheu Thai MPs this morning (Tuesday), reminding them of the alleged massive corruption, which he claims took place during the regime of former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, and the party’s “parliamentary dictatorship”, using their majority control of the parliament to push their political agenda.

 

Having been the target of heavy criticism from opposition MPs, particularly those of the Pheu Thai party, and their repeated calls for him to step down, the Prime Minister sought permission from Parliament President Chuan Leekpai to exercise his right of rebuttal.

 

He said that, in his speech yesterday, he never mentioned the class struggle, but merely spoke about the new and old generations in Thailand, and his desire that they should work together.

 

The Prime Minister said that what is being seen today is a breakdown of the family institution, with children not respecting their parents and students not respecting their teachers. “Can you accept this if it happens in your family,” he asked the opposition MPs.

And what about your promise to fight corruption? I doubt if you remember back this far, but when you and your clowns launched a coup, it was ostensibly to restore law and order, which you accomplished with draconian measures, and to get rid of the rot, and corruption in immigration, the police, customs, the government, and at the highest levels, which you never even made the slightest attempt to do. You substituted 10 foot alligators, with 14 foot crocodiles. And you have spent your entire six years protecting the elite, those in office, the army, the police, those who are connected, and the super wealthy. For God's sake, you could not even bring the Dark Tao killer to justice, nor the Red Bull creep. Again, busy protecting the wealthy with all of your power. 

 

The real problem is, you will not go after any of these guys. Not the top bankers, not the high ranking guys, not the provincial authorities, and certainly not the army, or the police. They are all corrupt beyond imagination. And the level of corruption simply escalates, the further up the food chain you go. As far as most of us are concerned, everything is the same. The police and army are not expected to be honest, and they are not expected to engage in law enforcement, traffic or public safety, on any level. It is an irrevocably broken and dysfunctional system. Any hyperbole to the contrary, is just a smoke screen, intended to deceive the most naive amongst us. 
 

Now, in this time of desperation, with your nation needing you more than ever before, where on earth are you? What have your proposed? Where are the solutions? There are at least a dozen good reasons why you should be removed from office.

The new generation which would have been standing behind the now disbanded FFP understand that corruption is endemic in the old guard of all parties. Hence the calls for reforms.  The response?  Use the ECC to destroy the youthful opposition?  That as well as two wrongs make a right ain't going to fly in the long run. The kids are smarter than that.  They can always quash the protests violently.  It's not like that hasn't been the modus operdendi of the past.  But given the cause-effects of recent "color revolutions" violent repression of street protests will probably come with an unanticipated price. 
I've no dog in the fight.  As a student of geo-politics - just saying...

According to wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prayut_Chan-o-cha ) Prayut today has an estimated net worth of 2 Billion Baht. How exactly is it possible to earn such a wealth in Thailand as a governmental official, and without being a successfull businessman?

Break down of Thai family institution? Seriously?  Children not respecting their parents? Seriously? Not respecting their teachers? Seriously? Speaking of corruption like he is clean as the driven Amnesty Snow? Seriously? Rewriting the constitution and not winning the real election? Seriously? And don't get the Thai's started on ole toad watch boy and that unbelievable story and the case that they are all untouchables. And how about taking out a well liked political party of the younger generation and still going after their beloved leader Thanathorn and 15 others in that group, or arresting anyone who dares to have a different opinion and is anti him and all the regime buffoons, as well as activists being beat up or kidnapped and missing or plainly killed. Seriously?
