He said he had used his power to “nurture good people and punish bad people”, which was a really tough job.

Prayut wrapped up by saying he does not understand why people keep saying he has exploited his power, when he has done everything according to law.

"Punish bad people" and I don't understand why people think I exploited my power - Let me see" Worked hard to get the FFP dissolved, doing things only your way, never holding free and fair elections, creating a constitution to keep the elite and the military in power, while not working for the everyday Thai, still not giving back power to the everyday Thai people, thinking only your way is correct, continuing the tradition of corruption, not listening to half of the Thai population, and plenty more. If he still cannot understand this, he will never understand the ordinary Thai person and never work to truly help Thailand to advance in the world and bring his people out of poverty

Give him a break, he is trying to be nice for once in his life! ????

I'm... intrigued by the suggestion of the pet rock. Things couldn't get worse, that's for sure.

The poor chap is clueless on what laws he broke. I could mention 2 to start with, back in 2014, which are punishable by life in prison or death. Or is he that good of an actor?

"In the speech, Prayut said the country’s educational system was not bad, but it focused far too much on academics, when people should be educated about patriotism, history and loyalty."

I can see it now Academics are bad, and instead brainwashing and mind control are better.

Yes no need for schools, just re-education camps.

Clearly there is a lack of propaganda classes about patriotism, the 3 pillars and so on.  Too much academic stuff in schools.  More patriotism, history and loyalty. More more more more.

(How can school books go beyond 100% patriotism I wonder?)

This man is a shame for Thailand!

He has forcibly replaced a people-elected government and is now talking he act within the law??

Is there a law in thailand that legitimizes a military coup?

Well for there to be a successor he needs to vacate the seat first.

Patriotism, yes; xenophobic nationalism no.

Accurate history, yes (embrace your Khmer ancestry and the might of the Burmese), embellished master-race history no.

Loyalty. To whom?

Unfortunately, sir, you just nobbled possibly the best thing to ever happen to Thailand. Greater: check, Better: check, More honest, lol.

Unfortunately sometimes democracy just doesn't work. Like with unruly children sometimes a strong hand is needed.

Compromising academic for nonsense patriotism,  loyalty and history illustrates a desire to create a nation of mindless sheep, not a well educated society.

Is there a comprehensive list of what the Army owns?  It would be an interesting read....

I am not aware of any complete overview, they aren't exactly a fan of transparency... All I came across was mentionings here and there in newspapers or the political arena and various books on Thai politics/history/society mentioning it.  My bottom line conclusions is that they know how to take good care of themselves...

Just heard that ultra royalists will petition the army tomorrow to stage a coup, anyone else heard this ? ??

Prayut challenges his successor to be greater, better, more honest

And my grandmother is a 87 year old virgin who owns 90 million dollars she hides in her underwear. ????

There are people we can't discuss here who do make it possible.

Odd...seeing as the army are already in charge?

The most uniquely Thai statement, possible. Just astounding.
