Remember in 2008 the GOP Senate leadership announcing their mission was to make Obama a one term president.l?  And look at the goverment shutdown during the Clinton Administration.  The deep partisan division and obstructionism goes back a lot further than 4 years. 

 

We could run the history tapes all the way back to Hamilton-Jefferson.

IMO I estimate 50% of the American people don't know the difference between a socialist and a social worker.  I think the impact of DT in this election was his denouncing of Biden, accusing him of things that most people didn't even know what he was talking about.  Most people have enough to deal with in their lives and don't pay attention to all this mess: kind of funny, in the 2016 campaign Ted Cruz accused DT of misleading the people who were not paying attention, which is his own tactic.

An example is the DT "fine people on both sides" statement, made all the news outlets, but a few days later when he whispered a denouncement of the white supremacists it barely got coverage.

 

When he goes back to laundering $$$ for his Russian pals federal law enforcement is going to be waiting for him, "yeah, we remember all those things you said about us."

 

 

He's just come out of the bunker on the golf course apparently .. expect a volley of full caps rantings with loads of exclamation marks from his Twitter account shortly ..

Trump is not going to go gently into that good night. The way I see it, he is an incubus which has wrenched the Republican Party off its foundations. They are now mere followers of a cult of personality which will persist until he dies.Until now, Mitt Romney was the only Republican to stand up to him. Trump will still have huge influence over the party, even if he is in jail.

Trump's success at getting 48% of people to vote for him, including Hispanics and in the middle of a pandemic exacerbated by him, is an indication of the tremendous polarisation of American society. Biden has the toughest job in the world.

Just guessing, and IN MY OPINION, but say hello to lockdown and the end of the economic recovery. The US can join other western countries economically destroyed, like the UK.

Thank god trumps reign of destruction is almost over let’s just hope they can limit further damage till he’s run off it’s been a long four years!

Given her past indiscretions and from what I saw of her in the debate with Pence I suspect there is trouble ahead, sadly. But she does tick a lot of boxes for the woke folk, and for them that's more important than having the best person for the job.

A lock down is only part of the solution.  And in some states in the US, which didn't do lock downs, their economy did NO better than ones that did a lock down.  Time to get the virus under control so we can get back to a normal life.  Hopefully, with science in control, that will start to happen in the US.  If it requires a short lock down, then so be it.
