I come to TV less and less but have recently noticed

You read a topic

You come back to it  days later

TV now takes you back to start not last unread post

NB i do not wish to "follow" topics or otherwise do anything but carry on from where  left I off

Surely this is not correct for such a whizz bang  electronic piece of hardware

I go to the last page, then read backwards through the posts.

To get back to your last read click on the little black dot:-

Yeah, but...

There is no little dot if you went to that thread from the trending list on the right hand side of the page.

One for the forum help page

"Black dots Matter"  :post-4641-1156693976:

Forgot to mention,

If it's a subject you've posted on the black dot becomes a star

For me, unless I have opted to Follow a thread, I am most likely to return to it because I see it listed in the right-hand column. When I get there, no black or blue dot (nor star).

So, in the case of "Worst joke..." for example, I must then do a Search which will get me to the right place.
