Plant that attracts butterflies

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend plants in Thailand that attracts butterflies?

What are the plant names called in Thai language?

Suggestion, Google Search:

The response shows that Thailand has 1100 to 1200+ species of butterflies, so I would recommend looking for the butterfly types that inhabit your area of the country and then see what their habitat and food source are.

We have a very common shrub in our garden that you see everywhere. No idea of the name but the flowers can be red , orange or yellow.

These attract butterflies which then lay larve everywhere. When these hatch they can eat their way right through the bush overnight !! You go to bed with a bushy shrub and next morning it is stripped bare. Wife hand picket about a dozen green caterpillars well girged from their feast.

The plant recovered but it took about 6 weeks.
