BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, has expressed concern over the flood situation in many areas of southern Thailand, and has advised people to prepare for evacuation, if necessary.

The Government Spokesman, Anucha Burapachaisri, said today that Gen. Prayut is closely monitoring the flood situation, after the provinces of Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Trang, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat have received continuous rain since November 25, 2020. The situation has affected many local people and farmers. The Prime Minister directed related agencies, including police, military and ministries that have dealt with similar situations, to provide assistance and mitigate the impact of flooding.

The Prime Minister was informed that the flood situation in seven of the southern provinces, excluding Satun and Yala, has eased. Nonetheless, he instructed all sides to prepare equipment, tools and medical units to help affected residents promptly. People in need of assistance can contact local authorities around the clock. He also offered moral support to those affected.

The Prime Minister ordered agencies to warn people to be on alert and be prepared, and to provide disaster relief and mitigation reports to him regularly.

When can we expect him to part the waters? At the very least will he walk on water as part of the monitoring process?

I'm sure they are better in the knowledge that you're watching from afar...
