Heavy flooding has brought a new problem for Nakhon Si Thammarat residents to deal with – tonnes and tonnes of garbage.

Provincial authorities have been working on clearing the trash to make way for the water to flow.

Garbage is one of the biggest issues faced by Nakhon Si Thammarat, which has been ranked as one of the biggest creators of trash in the country.

Meanwhile, despite low tide, several residents in the Pak Phanang River Basin are still flooded in and are seeking aid in food and transportation.

    With the floods comes a sewage problem too...would be interesting to see this league table of trash creators in the country I would have thought Bangkok ( being the center of the universe) would be  number 1

    It seems the annual flooding debacle is not a priority. The debt is being funneled to other more important projects like installing massive u-turn bridges over railroad tracks in every two buffalo village through·out the LOS. Hub of U-turn bridge.????

    Can't possibly be the locals, it must have washed in from abroad.

    Great pictures for TAT to use.. maybe some period will learn that the trash doesn't just float downstream and disappear.
