This depression hasn,t even started yet, millions are on " furlough " which is only delaying the inevitable, come spring the bloodbath of unemployment will really kick in.

But doesn't that apply to most countries across the world and not just to the UK?

If you want to talk about entitlement, let’s by all means do so, but let’s talk about all those who are ‘entitled’ including the wealthy, people who get access to opportunity on the basis of the school they attended, their name or their title.

Or are you only interested in pointing a finger at the poor?

The fact that people are poor or descriminated against dosen,t nessecarily endow them with any special qualities of justice, nobility, charity or compassion...................saul alinsky.                       Seems the bourgeois socialists of the tvf will have to find another group to be their usefull idiots.

Come spring hopefully the world will see the vaccine helping

Just listen to the several specialists in the world: the real mass of vaccination will not start before June, or as the Dutch specialist says: August.

Many people were relying on foodbanks even before Covid arrived, including working people who are struggling. Not really any point trying to discuss with the boozing-and-smoking-it-all-away crowd. A lot of football supporters groups are now running foodbanks because of the hardship in their local areas. As said though, this was going on long before Covid. On Merseyside for example, blues and reds have been together on this for several years with strong support from both football clubs as well, and they've helped many other supporters groups launch their own initiatives.

Totally agree, there are a lot of people facing hard times and in current circumstances there are going to be a lot more, however your point is comprimised by instances such as one posted by a member on tvf boasting how he,d spent half his oap winter fuel allowance on lady drinks for thai prostitutes in an afternoon.the po!iticians love quoting cases of benefit fraud and throwing it in your face  when confronted with facts about hardship.

You’ll have to find a post from me in which I claim the poor are endowed with these qualities OR own to having attributed to me views that I have never expressed.

I’m not holding my breath while you admit the latter.

Finding some individual instances of benefit fraud. doesn't compromise the point at all. That point is ordinary people looking out for those in need in their communities. It shouldn't be necessary in this day and age but local people have stepped up to look out for each other.

Of course politicians and their media backers love to quote individual cases of benefit fraud - much better than dealing with the billions of pounds lost to corporate and individual tax avoidance and evasion. I wonder which costs the country more.

Fair enough, but if you ever do try and stand in the corner of someone genuinely having a hard time expect to get something like thread thrown in your face,i know how politicians work and to put down

actually from what i read on this site most are just ordinary people ,with a handful of left wing luvvies ,who are always complaining how "racist" or "anti:"immigrants or whatever the vast majority of us are supposed to be  on here.

if by "ordinary people" you mean old white guys, you have a point.

There's no evidence. It's his character. Crass, indeed, crass. Merry X-Mas.

you forgot overweight and gambling.

I am fairly confident none of these people will starve to death in the UK.
People in other countries are doing it much harder economically ironically because many in the UK and some other countries refused to wear a mask, socially distance etc which has resulted in this preventable out of control second wave and continues to destroy the worldwide economy.

Harping on about their “human rights”. They can’t see past their own nose.

60,000+ in the UK are dead already though from the virus. I think that is a more important issue.

Don't forget the drugs too.  And yes, I am thinking of people I know very well
