Hotels are public places as well.

No. They are not.

Many hotels, even 5 star like the Shangri-La, operate both ASQ and non-ASQ services.

I'm curious about hotels in Thailand operating "non-ASQ services". Does that mean guests staying, or only just using restaurant facilities? I imagine there might be domestic tourists using hotels, but AFAIK the 5 star hotels around me in BKK are closed to all staying guests, and staff have been released for the foreseeable future, (in most cases fully paid, and will be re-employed once the situation is safer). Of the 2 I can think of, they are applying to become ASQ, but even if successful, the costs of servicing a limited number of people would far outweigh the benefits of running catering facilities etc.

And most likely in the top ten for hospital beds not taken up by Covid patients.

Let’s talk about why there are more pharmacies than 7-11s in Thailand.

Suspect most pass at home rather than in a hospital?

They do. Dying at home from covid wouldn’t be any different. They self medicate and either recover or die.

Because they dont want to pay for a franchise most likely.

I stayed in an ASQ hotel called the Maple hotel in bang na and they only catered for ASQ customers, they were very professional and it was not a bad place to stay.

It looks like Covid-19 is starting to spread in Thailand.  It started in the north and now has reached Bangkok.  The Thai government needs to remain diligent if they are truly going to stop the spread of the virus.  The borders need to be locked down tight!
