LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday there might come a moment when London would have to acknowledge that it was time to go for a no-deal Brexit and abandon talks.

Asked if he would try to do a deal right up until the wire, Johnson said: “Yeah of course.”

“We’re always hopeful but you know there may come a moment when we have to acknowledge that its time to draw stumps and that’s just the way it is,” said Johnson, referring to a cricketing term for the end of play.

“We will prosper mightily under any version and if we have to go for an Australian solution then that’s fine too.”

It seems slowly Boris realizes that when he promised unicorns he should have checked first if unicorns are available. And obviously half the Brits believed him. Amazing.

Misleading headline. Nothing to do with 'game over on brexit' but with 'game over on brexit deal'.

Currently the  Aussies are getting caned by tariffs on hundreds of products (Over 200%) after our dopey happy clapping PM decided to start an a blue with our biggest customer (27%) China.
Resulting in many Aussie companies to the wall and people being laid off at a time when we are already being caned by the covid recession.

So Boris wants to start a blue with EU.........

Good luck with that.

Like a broken record. They should lock themselves in a room and only come out and make an announcement when they have something new to say.

Flesh wound against Xi.

I'm no fan of happy clappers but we dodged a bullet with Shorten and ilk with their open ended climate change spending plans while anti any alternative back-up energy supply to coal. At least gas and hydro are back on the agenda. Might get mini nukes yet.

Back to Boris, think he got excited about drawing stumps and naturally thought of Australia, God love his fluffy locks.

Stop their EU nonsense, pull up the stumps, take the bat & ball and go home No Deal.

With Sterling expected to plummet to $1.15 or lower with a no deal outcome thats going to put Sterling/Baht at around 34 at best so those encouraging Johnson to walk away might think about that option

They simply don't care...and they will tell you so.

Most are still fighting WW2 and just think, for some strange reason, they are sticking it to the Germans.....weird people.

So how many times is the drama queen going to keep playing the same card?

He knew the Eu's position when he was selling Brexit to the gullible and now cant face the reality?

Get on with it.

He is looking for a Churchillian moment......I think the whole is being engineered to that end

To my knowledge Churchill never uttered the words "OK we accept your terms".

Johnson is going to say it. Especially now that his Brexit guru Cummings is gone.

As in fighting their corner? Negotiating with what ever tools and levers are at their disposal to get the best outcome possible for the EU.......it's just not cricket.

Thats the spirit KD. Sooner or later they will realise that they face the mighty wrath of the bold Brexiteers who will bluff and bluster the EU into submission.

I think there is a little more to this than the wishes of a few old men wanting to play out their days drinking cheap Leo on their old age pension.

Oh good stuff KD. Especially after what you Brexiteers have been posting ever since the referendum.

Its not a case of bullying. Its a case of picking a fight with someone far bigger and stronger than you are.

Still you knew what you were voting for right?

In case there should be a "game over". That's when the game really starts. We ain't seen nothing yet...

EU don't want a deal really, not yet anyway. UK is only asking for a basic trade arrangement as with Canada vs EU/  Canada vs USA.

unfortunately socialist Scotty has spent even more than Shorten would have ever spent. The libs if in opposition wouldn’t have allowed it. Doubled the dole!
if shorten had of got in they wouldn’t have had the balls to spend what the happy clapper has just blown trying to keep his job.

Decades to pay it off.
Boris just did the same. Both are now picking fights with their biggest customers. Public servants so it doesn’t personally effect them. Everyone else pays, with interest on top!

And given the level of trade between the two parties did you ever think that was possible?

You think the EU is going to give full access to its market while allowing the UK to undercut their own manufacturers?

Dream on. Was never going to happen. You should have known that.

Hasn't it always been obvious that a no-deal is where we're headed?

I think if it plays out that way, those few old men can't even afford cheap leo's from their pension any more

In a 2 party deal, the strongest party always tend to set the rules. Maybe Brexiteers should have thought about that before deciding
