Red-shirt leader Nattawut Saikua was released from prison on Friday, but not before he was tagged with an electronic monitoring bracelet, which will track his every move.

Pro-democracy protest leader Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak welcomed the red-shirt leader posting a congratulatory message on Facebook as well as thanking Nattawut for taking care of him while he was in prison.

Nattawut was among five red-shirt leaders who were handed jail sentences by the Supreme Court on June 26 for bringing together more than 10 people, allegedly creating chaos in the city and fighting the authorities in 2007.

On July 22, 2007, leaders of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship led a march to late Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanonda’s Si Sao Thewes residence to pressure him to step down as chief royal adviser.

Nopparut Worachitwutthikul was sentenced to two years and eight months in jail, while Veerakarn Musikapong, Wiputhalaeng Pattanapoom, Weng Tochirakarn and Natthawut were each given four years and four months.

In 2010, Natthawut was detained after the military crackdown on demonstrators on May 19, and remained incarcerated for nine months before being bailed out.

And never investigated for the massive fraud he committed during the rice scheme...trucking rice from warehouse to warehouse....or never trucking at all...just sending huge invoices!

Fidel Castro back on the streets.

Red shirts, bunch of agitators and manipulators and a direct threat to peace and stability in Thailand.

Anyone who doubts that should know his history. Anyone who lived in Bangkok a decade ago know what these agitators want.

For months they were allowed to have "protests" in bkk, in reality just cleverly wrecking the city with month longs blockades of the innercity. when these "democracy protesters" failed in provoking the governement, they started to burn down buildings including Central which hurned to the ground.

The majority of these protesters were human cattle imported from Isan for a few baht each ignorant peasant.

If you think Fidel did a great job, you sure will love the red shirts, otherwise, think twice before supporting these thugs.

Do you have any proof of that, any links etc that are reliable (and trusted in these days of fake news)?

If there was any proof, then the Yingluck government would have been all over him like a rash on a baby's bum?

If there was any proof then this government would/will have gone for him as well.

Part of the problem is that sometimes people post without checking before hand.

Rubbish and in my opinion "fake news" - proof please!! I lived in Isaan for several years and all the people I met were decent, welcoming folk - not human cattle!
