When are you visiting Thailand next?

Hi!

 

As Thailand has opened its door to tourists of all nationalities, when are you planning to visit next? 

 

I won't visit as I feel the 14 day quarantine is too much. And when I return , I might have to spend another week or so in quarantine in my country depending on the rules at that time.

I'll go back to my wife and child when the vaccines done and Thailand opens up without quarantine. But that's pretty much the same as How long is a piece of string

 

My own issue is not that I do not have the money to quarantine or jump through these silly hoops, it just that due to personal reasons I need to travel back and forth to the UK every 9 months and doing expensive hoops and quarantine every 9 months makes it a non starter for me.

The very best of luck.  I hate to hear of people separated from their family by this virus and its consequences.  I hope you get back to them very soon. Although my wife is here, our children are in the UK and we get quite down when we realise that it will be many months before we can visit them.  Thank goodness for modern communication technology.

lets hope Thailand shows some sense and allows vaccinated people to visit without quarantine.

Going by what I have been reading, it seems that the hassle starting from when you start all the rigmaroll till you get to the ASQ

is much worse than the actual quarantine.

Even allowing for the quarantine, I think that from the start, it could be made a lot easier than it is although I wonder if Thailand gives people much more hassle than most other countries  with scam insurance policies etc, etc.

Their first priority will be the usual thing, money, and how much they can get from you.

Wednesday baby ????????????????. Anyone that would sook about 14 days quarantine is a bxxxh imo. Worse part was the COE for me as it now has to be all done online and I think it adds unnecessary drama compared to the embassy just issuing one. That would be my one and only complaint with the whole process.

Try getting into Australia at the moment champ. Compare prices for state quarantine compare the amount of paperwork and flights available to land anywhere then get back to me about how much of a "scam" Thailand is f f s. To be honest just a few short weeks ago it was harder to get from Sydney or Melbourne to Western Australia than it was to get to Thailand, I should know I did it plenty. And further to that it was almost more of a hassle to get permission to leave my own <deleted> country than it was to enter Thailand. Geez people talk some rubbish.

In the UK, 57 and with some health issues I would expect to be probably in tier 5 or 6 I guess, so I guess March April at best. THEN, the issue would be will they be issuing travel vaccine stamps in passports and will Thailand allow no quarantine if you have one.

In quarantine right now. Was last here in January.

I'd normally visit Bangkok each year from my base in Laos to have a health check, go to the dentist, buy decent new shoes, clothes etc.

 

Since Thailand has far more Covid deaths and cases than Laos, my visit is on hold, one tooth has fallen out after I bit a hard nut and with my old clothes I now look like Worzel Gummidge ????  (My health is good though..)

Since i go for three months at a time, the quarantine is painful but all the other stuff you have to do is a trip killer. I think post-vaccine might be the reasonable time.

 

Too bad you can't pay for a rental girl to get a jab and know she is fairly safe. That is after you get yours.

 

I wonder if the bars will provide proof of each girl getting jabbed.

 

Not that I'm interested in that sort of fun. I'm thinking for a friend.

Australia has announced that even if vaccinated at this stage you will still need to quarantine.

This is on the basis that even if vaccinated you could still be” a carrier” and infect others.

Kind of defeats the purpose of travelling doesn't it, although I do know that people vaccinated can become infected and asymptomatic, spreading it, so looks like quarantine will have to be around for a while to come until they can sort a vaccine that will stop it dead in it's tracks, but that could take years.

 

The above said, everyone NEEDS to get vaccinated to reduce the spread of this horrible disease so that we can build up a decent herd immunity which would then allow us to get back to life without having to quarantine.
