Given that chances are high I will arrive in Thailand this weekend, what was the last lock down like? I remember there was a curfew, no nightlife, and random foreigners were busted throwing private parties - but were there more restrictions or could you at least go get food and supplies during the day? We'll be in quarantine until mid-January anyway, but wondering what happens after... I am in the same position but a week later. If the lockdown was relatively short it might end just as I got out of quarantine, but I would hate to get out of quarantine just to end up in the middle of a lockdown. I left Thailand just as the first lockdown was starting in late March so I don’t know what it was like.

It's the long term effects of idiotic knee jerk reactions performed by useless string puppets that kill people!!! You should try to understand cause and effect. Death rates are down BECAUSE of lockdowns. People who get their information from memes and dodgy alt-right websites don't seem to ever be able to make that huge leap of understanding.

Those people who don’t make that “huge leap of understanding” - as you? - are those, who invest their time to dig into scientific studies in leading scientific publications as BMJ or eg. take their calculators out, apply the Bayes Theoreme and compute, what effects prevalence, specifity and sensitivity have on Positive or Negative Predictive Values of rtPCR- and antibody tests and on R0 ... And by digging into studies, they find for example a study from ETH Zurich, which evaluated the “Querdenker” movement and found astonishingly not a lot of alt-rights, but that 23% of them elected before the Greens ... >250% than the Green Party’s share at the last election for parliament ! Popular Post daveAustin
What a joke, a few cases. You wait until you get a proper dose... probably from the UK. After all, that's where it originated isn't it. You know, that country that sorted science, sports, law and moved the world on from rolling around in the mud. Disease nothing to do with China. No, never them. Blame England. It makes everyone feel good. 2

If the lockdown was relatively short it might end just as I got out of quarantine, but I would hate to get out of quarantine just to end up in the middle of a lockdown. I left Thailand just as the first lockdown was starting in late March so I don’t know what it was like. Hi. The 1st lock down was not too bad. I got stuck in Thailand during the 1st lockdown. Big-C and 7-11 and pharmacies remained open, and getting food was not a problem. Booze sales were allowed very quickly! I had stocked up, needlessly as it happens! Wearing a face mask is uncomfortable, but we have to accept the "new normal". I see the talk on here about a possible new lockdown, but that has already happened around the world! I am due to return to Thailand very soon, after enforced retirement from my work in Oman, but Oman have just today stopped all incoming and outgoing flights! The UK and most of Europe have also placed a travel ban! If you are already in Thailand under quarantine, then you are very lucky! Some of us who need/want to return are in a far worse situation! The new worldwide travel bans due to the new strain of the virus have effected me personally, but it has also effected many other people. My friend, who was due to fly from Oman to the UK for Xmas today, before then returning to Thailand, is now stuck in Muscat! He will miss seeing his family over Xmas. I read on here about people going on and on about restrictions in Thailand, and a 24 hour booze ban for elections, and I get very exasperated! If you are currently in quarantine, you know that it is a booze ban for 15 days! So why do people post on here about "the problems" of a 24 hour booze ban during the current elections? That happens on a regular basis during Big Buddha days! Thailand want to open to tourists coming, but with a 14 day quarantine, and no booze for 15 days! Umm! Do they really think that ALL tourists are teetotal? Anyway! To answer your exact question. Don't worry about a possible 2nd lockdown! The 1st lockdown was was not at all bad, except for Thai people who lost their income and businesses!

keysersoze276
Reading this was like reading an urgent and important message written by my girlfriend using google translate. Can we get an editor in here please? Plus, this has to be fake news because it is completely opposite of what Anutnin said would happen. This is why I don’t read Thai news. It’s like reading a book, but you know there will be a totally insane twist and you already know the ending. “Nothing to worry about, everything is under control. Don’t believe anyone who says there will be another outbreak”. ”Ok, so the liars were telling the truth and the situation is so out of control that we can’t cover it up. We are forced to admit we should all be worried AF.” The only thing we can be assured about is that everything the government claims will turn out completely opposite. I would never believe a word of their nonsense unless they told me the value of THB would significantly strengthen over this.

I have seen the new casino and hotel at tachilek ,looks like a new Chinese city. My Burmese mate gave me a tour of it. We later had a beer at the building on the left as you approach the Thai side. You can sit at tables looking under the border bridge, we watched people playing , fishing and about ten people with packages loaded on their head walk straight under the bridge into Thailand. I asked my mate , what do you think they are carrying --- he said better not ask better close your eyes. So I would hazard a guess that working girls and government staff walk in and out after a good nights gambling and some play time. Couple that with other borders all the way down past Hua HIn which are very close to Hua Hin and Burmese could be strolling home for the weekend or whatever at will. I thought the borders would shoot the enlightened one in the foot along, with Burmese workers strolling in and out at will. Very corrupt borders, so yes I agree with you 100%.

Popular Post ChipButty
Right now Im feeling concerned for all the restaurants and bars who are organizing events and parties trying to generate a little bit of business to survive and the money they have spent to stock up, Not knowing whats going to happen open or closed, Surely the government cant close down Christmas being so close that would be suicidal, fingers crossed guys hope you dont get to many cancellations

Real number of people exposed to it are at least 10 times higher than official figures. Who estimated around 2 months ago already 700 millions people so now should be even higher. Most countries are barely testing and even rich ones are not detecting all the infections since most are asymptomatics.
