snoop1130
Covid death confirmed from Rayong gambling den By The Nation Deputy Health Minister Satit Pituthecha has confirmed the fresh outbreak of Covid-19 has claimed its first life, pushing Thailand’s death toll up to 61. A 45-year-old man with heart disease had succumbed to the virus at Rayong Hospital, said Satit on Facebook. The victim was a guard at the illegal gambling den thought to be at the centre of the outbreak in the eastern province. The man was tested on Sunday and developed severe breathing problems on Monday. He was rushed to hospital by a friend but stopped breathing on the way. Doctors performed CPR for 30 minutes but were unable to revive him. The victim had a record of ischemic heart disease, stroke and diabetes, according to Satit. internationalism
most of gambling dens workers and visitors will be avoiding testing and hospital care, because they might be afraid of consequences of participating in gambling. some rich ones might take tests at private hospitals, some 4-8k. this guy was probably sick for many days, hiding his symptoms, and only after collapsing rushed to hospital. how security guard with 3 serious chronic illnesses can properly work, possibly also doing night shifts?

So it seems he was tested and allowed to go home awaiting results being that a friend tried to get him to hospital.
Bluedan
"The victim had a record of ischemic heart disease, stroke and diabetes, according to Satit." All are common causes of death. Interesting as to how they designate the cause of death. Is a positive test the definitive factor?

Easily done in Thailand, especially in rural areas. Just a small step to avoid the rushing to hospital.......and die at home. Easily done in Thailand, especially in rural areas. No tests....died from whatever pre-condition the COVID aggravated/intensified......that's what would be on the certificate. No one would be eager to acknowledge or "notice" what the real cause of the death was ....that's why it was hidden in the first place. That's why people have been jumping quarantine and trying to evade the State. Given that the vast majority of those through whom the virus transits suffer barely any effects, and the death ratio to infections is very low (according to random mass testing and analysis in the UK), one would see only a few extra deaths per month in a Tambon. They would be easily dealt with among the numerous crematoria. But multiply the deaths by the number of Tambon nationwide, over 8 months, and you get....... All that has happened now is that the curtain has been drawn back. Edited December 28, 2020 by Enoon 2

RIP such a young age. To those reading this, if you have a poor diet, don't exercise regularly, and don't allow the sun to touch your smiley face, take note, change now, if your not able to exercise and are a little older than most, social distance, wear a face mask and keep cleaning your hands after being out and about, and get a little sunshine in your life, for how much longer, God only knows ? Most in the den were masked up, which is a worry, as it has infected so many from there.

Oldie
Below interesting news. Are they looking for Covid cases in Pattaya? Will be interesting how long the entertainment venues will be allowed to continue. The mayor stressed several times that he does not want to close them. But he also said originally that the New Years festivals will not be canceled. https://thepattayanews.com/2020/12/28/update-timelime-pattaya-and-banglamung-warns-people-who-visited-places-in-relation-to-confirmed-covid-19-cases/

Also how many were wearing a mask correctly? Most only wear covering their mouth.

Agree, however the less exposure one has to others, the longer they avoid the meeting Covid-19, as for a walking time bomb, well aren't we all, my mum is 85 and has more than that bloke did and she is still kicking along, albeit it she is stone deaf and almost blind, yes she too is a walking time bomb, but ain't going off anytime soon, God bless her. Surely not the best person for such a potentially stressful/physically demanding job?
