Thaksin’s top cop has a new mission – a corruption-free, developed Pathum Thani

With fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra as his role model, Pol Lt-General Camronwit Toopkrajank is on a mission to turn his hometown of Pathum Thani into a highly developed city.

The mission will become official as soon as the Election Commission (EC) endorses his win in the poll for Pathum Thani Provincial Administration Organisation (PAO)’s top post.

Covering the north of metropolitan Bangkok, Pathum Thani has always been considered a strategically crucial seat of power.

Who on earth makes up these headlines?....This guy is a Pol. Lt-General ....gambling dens, massage parlours, motorcy taxis....the list goes on about all the "businesses" these people have interests in.....corruption free? Never!

He's just showing he's learned from top politicians on what to say:

Trump - I'm not corrupt; the election was stolen...................... etc

Biden - I've never taken a penny in my life............... never discussed business with Hunter  etc

Thaksin - I've never done anything wrong in my life, never................................

Boris -  just smiles when his lies are pointed out to him.

Vlad -  the election was fair

Xi - we believe in justice for everyone

etc etc etc.

Just remember though, he was democratically elected.  So give him a chance because he hasn't been a career politician like those mentioned above!

This is the man who was pictured with a large photo of Thaksin in his office on the day he was promoted to head of Bangkok police. When Thaksin was already a fugitive. A very senior policeman showing contempt for the law publicly - Thailand only.

He was the man who tried to board a flight to Bangkok in Japan with a revolver and ammo in his carry on luggage. Got caught and then the Japanese DPP decided to drop all charges and not prosecute. Friends in very very high places????

Why would anyone be surprised at his election success? Seems like an obvious Pheu Thai choice.

Corruption won't end and democracy won't exist as long as military are in politics. They belong in a barracks muzzled, and on a short leash as in the West.

Who better to serve on a "corruption free" platform than a Thaksin enabling Boy in Brown.

But he is no longer a policeman if you read the OP link.

Thaksin was corrupt but even he didn't steal the country in a coup and give himself an amnesty.

Thaksin endorsed him for the PAO position which was much the same as all the sound trucks relentlessly doing the same thing and paid for by their sponsors.

Thaksin was and is corrupt. He never managed to get the military on his side. Otherwise he would be like his eternal buddy Hun Sen.

He tried very hard to wangle an amnesty for himself but in so doing brought down his puppet sister's regime.

Sadly, corruption in the world of politics seems to be getting worse rather than better.
