wow gee thats some crowd huh!!! ok Arsenal legends they might not be....but with such big name footballers like that even Id be interested.....

2000 baht is a lot of money for a dinner (well atleast for me :D)...but still cheaper than having to fly to europe to watch a game :bah:

BUT the question is.....what/how much interaction with these guys can you really have in an event like that.....

who else is tempted :D

I hadn't heard about it Mig.. and yes, it does sound interesting. I've been to a few similar events in the UK and they can be great fun.. Work depending I'd be up for it.. :o

I went to a similar dinner in Hong Kong a few years ago...with John Barnes, Phil Neil, Alan Kennedy, Paul Walsh ... A couple of the players did an after dinner speach each and circulated around the tables a bit for informal chats and signing autographs..

Was a good night.

By the way the 2000 Baht covers food and drink (alcohol) for the evening, so not such a bad price at the conrad.

I am going along with some of the winking frog and BC football team players.

ok so since there is also this other thing happening....Im gonna save my 2000bht :o and just go watch some of them play instead of watch them make jokes at a dinner :D

TESCO LOTUS BANGKOK MASTERS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT - 2ND-3RD JUNE 2007

at Dhephatsadin Stadium (aka the Hockey stadium) in the centre of Bangkok between MBK shopping centre and the old National Stadium (next to 'National Stadium' BTS station).

The Tesco Lotus Bangkok Masters is an international 7-a-side Football Tournament organized by the BCCT. 24 teams of over 35 and over 40 year old mainly amateur players will participate. The 'Happy Elephant Samui' All Stars includes ex-Liverpool legends Ian Rush and John Barnes, Viv Anderson (ex-Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Manchester United), Clive Walker (ex-Chelsea), Gus Caesar (ex-Arsenal), Darrell Duffy (ex-Aston Villa), Richard Miranda (ex-Australia) and ESPN Star Sports' Paul Masefield, Andrew Leci and Shebby Singh.

ALL SPECTATORS ARE WELCOME

Other participating teams are coming from all over the world - UK, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Brunei and teams from the Thai, British, German, French and Scandinavian communities in Thailand. The 2006 tournament received local TV coverage and much printed media exposure.
