If things go belly up for you in Thailand (Visas etc), where are you heading?

Looking for a bit of inspiration here.
Whilst I have no immediate plans to jump ship now you never know in the future.

With all the visa hassle and moving of the goalposts things could change in a heartbeat.

Where would you lot be off to if one day, for whatever reason, your visa is not renewed?

(would be interested to hear from British Nationals regarding Brexit etc).

how about healthcare?

I've heard it's really poor in both countries.

When things went a soft belly-up in Thailand (sick of officials, 'no-have', etc), I moved to Laos (I used to work in Luang Prabang in 2013).  No problems to get my 1-year business visa and work permit as an online science teacher (they encourage scientists to move to Laos, offering early PR etc).

But yes, the healthcare sucks!  So stay healthy!!

hmm, yes indeed.

The problem is with health you never know what is round the corner.

Would hate to be in your shoes if the s*it really did hit the fan!

The OP said that he was looking for inspiration.

The same topic that was started yesterday (not by me) already has 123 replies. I'm sure that he and anyone else looking for alternatives to Thailand and the reasons, will also like to look there.
