US President Joe Biden has signed an executive order mandating not only face masks to be worn on aeroplanes and within airports, but also a 10-day self-quarantine for international arrivals.

Maybe the numbers will fall, but I am not holding my breath. ????

Just one more reason to not go back any time soon, if at all.

Self quarantine, meaningless and possibly useless. I'm not  fully in favour of the Thai quarantine and it's stopped me from returning to my own country , but at least it's fit for purpose.

Its like welding the barn door shut at noon to prevent the bats from returning.

 

It's ok to say it, sure, but there's no way it will or can be enforced in the U.S., and without enforcement, the effect will be negligible. 

Just imagine if there was unilateral agreement between all nations on earth to all go into strict lockdown for 2 weeks at the same time, no travel, everyone stay home, only 1 member of household can go out per household for food, and only emergency services working.

 

After only two weeks of inconvenience and lockdown this virus can be eradicated from the planet and all can return to normal.
