I am moving to Thailand in February and just wondered if anyone can recommend any reputable and reasonably priced policies for health coverage over there please.

There are numerous companies, you may wish to contact yourself or use AA Insurance brokers and let them do the leg work and present you with options as many have done.

 

Insurance is a very individual thing to you personal circumstances and no one size fits all.

Three quick points for your consideration:

1 - Don't try to combine the mandatory health-insurance requirement when applying for a Non Imm O-A Visa in your home-country (and currently also required for the STV and the Non Imm O Visa for reason of retirement, as part of the CoE requirements) and the 100.000 US $ covid-19 treatment insurance currently imposed on everybody entering Thailand, with your wise intent to subscribe to a health-insurance policy that long-term meets your needs when residing in Thailand.

There are such 'combination' policies offered by Thai insurers but they provide as good as always less value than option for a separate policy/policies that meet those Immigration requirements, and keeping that separate from the choice for a policy from a long-term health-insurance perspective.

2 - In general, foreign international health-insurance will provide you much better value at a lower annual premium than Thai health-insurance policies (which are notorious for their small print exceptions and do not need to comply to Western standards of common insurance decency).

It is recommended to engage an insurance broker in Thailand, which will help you to make the right choice of policy in function of your needs.  AA Insurers are a reputable Thai broker, with the additional advantage that they will represent you in case of having to file a claim.

3 - Depending on whether you are covered in your home-country while residing in Thailand, travel-insurance might be an attractive option as it is in general far less expensive than regular health-insurance.  But keep in mind that most travel-insurance will only be available till a certain age, after which it might become difficult (and much more expensive) to switch to regular health-insurance to cover you in case of catastrophic accident/illness while in Thailand.

Foreign based insurers are usually more expensive but better cover, example April Intl (France) vs April Intl (Thailand)
